BlackBerry Bold 9790 review

Can the BlackBerry Bold 9790 compete with the iPhone 4S and top-tier Androids?

Great keyboard ; Solid build

Lack of apps ; Small screen ; Poor touchscreen interface

BlackBerry Bold 9790 - Pocket-lint

A new and improved Bold, but not Bold enough to stand out from the crowd

Nice screen, QWERTY is still great

Doesn't feel fresh or exciting, too much plastic

You might conclude that we don't like the 9790. But that's not it at all. In fact we are just more disappointed at the mistakes BlackBerry has made with it. Yet again we have a phone with a lovely screen, great battery life, and a superb keyboard. All...

BlackBerry Bold 9790 review

Another day, another high-end BB7 handset

Generous 8GB memory ; Great keyboard ; Easy to set up ; Holds onto signal well ; iTunes sync is simple

Only a lock button up top, no media buttons ; Touchscreen too small ; No HD video ; App World still poor ; Contacts need a lick of paint

BlackBerry may quietly (or perhaps not so quietly) be finessing its plans for world domination with its upcoming BBX handsets, but it's not letting the other operating system go to waste, with a stream of BB7 devices being churned out right now, among...

BlackBerry Bold 9790 pictures and hands-on - Pocket-lint

The BlackBerry Bold 9790 acts like the baby brother to the 9900. It is a slimmer, lighter version of the aluminium-wrapped flagship BlackBerry handset.

RIM Blackberry Bold 9790 review

This smartphone is a little fiddly to set up and not as fun to use - or as good value - as an Android or Apple smartphone

BlackBerry Bold 9790

BlackBerry's latest Bold is a budget alternative to the 9900 that combines a touchscreen with a full qwerty keyboard.

Responsive touchscreen, Good physical keyboard

Small screen, Not enough apps

Blackberry Bold 9790 review

RIM's Bold 9700 and 9780 created a niche for themselves and the Bold series of smartphones has a loyal set of fans. RIM's new Bold 9790 is an attempt to take this legacy forward.

At £399, the Bold 9790 is priced much more than the competition. If you have the 9700 or the 9780, I suggest there is no need for an upgrade and if you want a new Blackberry phone with the same OS the Bold 9900 is a much better option.

BlackBerry Bold 9790 review

This article first appeared on V3.co.uk RIM has been rather quiet on the handset front of late, with its last high-profile release being the BlackBerry Bold 9900 back in September. The Canadian firm has at last followed this up with the Bold 9790,...

BlackBerry Bold 9790

RIM moves to put a premium Bold device in the hands of more BlackBerry users, with its pocket-and-budget-friendly Bold 9790 smartphone.

Excellent QWERTY keyboard and touchscreen; expandable storage; eye-catching design; quick and responsive due to the OS and snappy processor; one of the better snappers for RIM's devices premium feel in hand.

No FM radio; no Wi-Fi hotspot functionality; and single-core CPU.
