RIM BlackBerry 8800 review

RIM adds good looks to the BlackBerry's list of strengths

Great usability ; Wide range of features ; Good battery life

No Wi-Fi

RIM has added style and yet more features to the world's most usable handheld

BlackBerry 8800 Smartphone

Research in Motion's latest BlackBerry borrows its style heavily from the company's more consumer friendly BlackBerry Pearl, but does that mean mean BlackBerry have dumbed down its business offering? We take a closer look. This might be the best...

Styling, Built-in GPS, QWERTY keyboard

No Wi-Fi, no 3G, no camera, GPS software not great

This might be the best looking BlackBerry to date, and at its core job it works a treat, however RIM are missing quite a few tricks here.

Blackberry 8800

The business email device gets a sleek makeover and some added GPS and video functions. Prepare for a whole new dose of Crackberry.

PC Pro: Product Reviews: RIM BlackBerry 8800

Proof that corporate smartphones don't need to be stuffy, but SME users may want more.

BlackBerry 8800

BlackBerry's stunning new 8800 has succeeded in marrying the design flair of the Pearl with the practical functionality of the 8700…

It looks great, email is easy to set up, and it is very user friendly

There is no 3G, Wi-Fi or camera

It goes without saying that most people considering a BlackBerry will require wireless email functionality, and the 8800 is as good as any device for push-email on the move.

RIM - BlackBerry 8800

RIM has a fight on its hands with the BlackBerry. There was a time when, as a mobile e-mail device, it was in a very small group indeed. But not today. Nokia's Series 60 and Windows ...

RIM has brought the looks of the QWERTY BlackBerry up to date with the 8800, and the GPS will be a boon to many. But it is a much less 'whizz-bang' device than much of the competition, and no doubt many people will miss the scroll wheel.

RIM BlackBerry 8800

The BlackBerry is definitely getting funkier. The latest version of the iconic corporate messaging device has been given a very slick facelift to go with its traditional messaging strength and excellent on-board sat nav functionality

Built in GPS sat nav functionality, Finger-friendly Qwerty keyboard, Excellent messaging options

No camera, No 3G, Larger than a regular mobile

A welcome step forward for BlackBerry, with features that really branch out from its business roots

Business review: RIM BlackBerry 8800

Business review: RIM BlackBerry 8800RIM heads in the right direction with built-in satellite navigation as well as push email support

Good keypad ; built-in GPS ; supports BlackBerry push email

Slow to acquire GPS fix ; trackball may not suit all users

RIM's latest BlackBerry supports satellite navigation as well as the traditional BlackBerry email and messaging functions. The BlackBerry Maps navigation tool lacks some features of rival software, but its inclusion makes this device an attractive...

BlackBerry 8800 review

Somehow the 8800 doesn't have the visceral desirability of the Pearl and it doesn't have WiFi or 3G. But with GPS and a QWERTY keyboard it's undoubtedly a more capable business device, especially if you want a BlackBerry with a full keyboard.
