BlackBerry 8707g

For a two-year-old phone, the 8707g stands up well, but it's without many of the features we now expect in smartphones like Wi-Fi, GPS and microSD support.

Easy-to-use, comfortable single-handed operation, QWERTY keyboard, 3G data speeds, Excellent battery life

No Wi-Fi, No GPS, Non-expandable memory, Not as sharp looking as newer models

BlackBerry 8707g

The BlackBerry 8707g is reasonably zippy and easy-to-use, but lacks many common smartphone features like Wi-Fi and microSD memory expansion.

Easy-to-use, comfortable single-handed operation ; QWERTY keyboard ; 3G data speeds ; Excellent battery life

No Wi-Fi ; No GPS ; Non-expandable memory ; Not as sharp looking as newer models

It may be a matter of carrier loyalty that sells the 8707g, considering it is available exclusively with 3 Mobile, and is the telco's only BlackBerry on offer. However, if we had our pick, we'd have to go with the lighter, leaner Pearl 8120 or wait a...

BlackBerry 8707v

Vodafone Germany and RIM (who make the BlackBerry)say that they will have the 8707v available very soon, presumably followed by other Vodafone regions and then we expect to see variants for other carriers at a later date.

My using experiences

BB 8707 is a cheap smart phone using 2G and 3G network. I fell rather comfortable when using it. Its durability is really good but its battery standby time is short. BB 8707 's keyboard is very convenient. It can send and receive mail, but I think the...

Blackberry 8707

3G reception is very poor compared to other phones, and most of the time it limps along on GPRS. Using it as a tethered modem is extremely difficult as interface with Vista causes endless problems which O2 were unable to solve. Main criticism is poor...
