iPhone XS review

Seems pretty similar to the iPhone X until you look real close...

Awesome camera ; Powerful ; Top-quality screen

Similar to iPhone X ; Battery life could be better ; The price, eh?

Familiar on the outside, hidden treats on the inside. This is the iPhone X, but better.

Apple iPhone XS review: The safe update

As with all iPhone "S" model upgrades, the iPhone XS is about bringing new processing power to a phone that already looks really good. The Apple

Faster processor ; New camera features ; Tougher glass build

Design hasn't changed ; Not a necessary upgrade for iPhone X users ; No fast charger in the box

iPhone XS review

A modest upgrade on a very good phone

Smart HDR helps the camera ; More powerful again ; Fast operation in the hand

Battery life not world-beating ; Design not altered in a year ; Still very expensive

Yes, the iPhone XS is the best phone Apple's ever created, but that's not really a surprise - it's the new one. The bigger question is: what's actually changed, given the design is so similar to last year? Well, the speakers are more powerful and...

Apple iPhone Xs review: It's smaller and less expensive but is the Xs better than the iPhone Xs Max?

The iPhone Xs is a superb phone, but if you're going to spend this much you might as well go one better and get the Xs Max instead

Faster than the iPhone X ; Great camera and superb video recording ; New gold colour looks fantastic

Pricey for a 5.8in smartphone

If I had the money, though, and was going to make the choice between this and the iPhone Xs Max, it would be the latter every time. It’s expensive, yes, but not THAT much more expensive. If you’re going to spend this much on a phone, you might as well...

iPhone Xs colours: Apple goes luxe with the iPhone Xs and Xs Max

When it comes to the iPhone Xs colours, it's opulence aplenty over at Apple

...and that’s all, folks! Be sure to read our full coverage of the iPhone Xs and Xs Max, along with its “entry-level” counterpart, the iPhone XR.

Which new premium iPhone should you buy? We compare iPhone XS to iPhone XS Max

The new iPhones are here, and this time Apple has given its two premium models the same internals. We compare iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max to see whether sizes really matters

Apple has made it easy for customers to pick up the iPhone they really want this year. There are no trade-offs with cameras or other features, as both units are identical except for size of chassis and screen. True, you get a bit more battery life with...

Apple iPhone XS and XS Max review: Pricey but future-proof

For better or worse, the iPhone XS Max is just a massive iPhone XS. That's great in some ways: its 6.5-inch display is fantastic for watching videos and lining up photos, and there's a much better battery here, too. That said, only a few app and...

First-rate build quality ; Excellent performance ; Helpful camera improvements ; iOS 12 is fantastic ; Slightly more durable than the iPhone X

Still very expensive ; Minute design changes mean old cases might not fit well ; Incremental battery gains

But we need to circle back to our original question: Are either of these new iPhones must-own devices? The answer really depends. If you splurged on an iPhone X last year, you could easily skip out on this generation -- and maybe even the next one --...

iPhone XS review, updated: Great phone. Nice camera. But wait for iPhone XR

This year's iPhone is hard to judge without seeing the iPhone that's not yet here.

The iPhone XS has a markedly improved dual camera, delivering better photos than the iPhone X in both dark and high-contrast environments. It has a faster processor, faster face ID, adds dual SIM support and it’s now available in gold and 512GB versions.

Its battery life is the shortest of the three new iPhones and only incrementally better than last year's. Despite its still-rich price tag, key extras such as increased storage, USB-C fast chargers and headphone dongles will have you spending even more.

The iPhone XS adds some impressive camera improvements to the already-great iPhone X. But you should seriously wait and see what the lower-priced XR coming in October is like.

Apple iPhone XS

The Apple iPhone XS is a significant step forward for iPhones, but most iPhone buyers will probably prefer the XR or the XS Max.

Excellent camera. Powerful processor. Fast networking. First mainstream dual-SIM phone in the US.

Expensive for the size and feature set.

Bottom Line: The Apple iPhone XS is a significant step forward for iPhones, but most iPhone buyers will probably prefer the XR or the XS Max.
