Alcatel OT-282

Contrary to popular belief, people over the age of 70 do use mobile phones (maybe not smartphones, mind). Yet most phones aren't adapted to faded hearing and eyesight that we'll all be subjected to in old age, so the Alcatel OneTouch 282 has stepped in...

The OT 282 is as basic as they come, and you couldn't really expect too much more for £30. Of the phone's stand-out features, there's an SOS button on the back that can be configured to call specific numbers, as well as compatibility to work with a...

Alcatel OneTouch OT-282 review

The world has truly gone mobile-potty. Everyone seems to have a portable telephone these days, from the youngest child to the oldest senior citizen, and this increased level of connection is unquestionably a blessing to many people.

Easy to use, Dock is a neat extra, Ideal for older users

Incredibly basic, Feels cheap, Screen is poor

It’s certainly not going to rival the Samsung Galaxy S3 when it comes to power or functionality, but then that’s not the point - the OT-282 is aimed at older users. It’s easy to use and comes with many attractive features

SIM LOCKED

I bought this phone for my Mum who is 83 years old - after only 6 months she cannot use it anymore as it comes up with 'SIM locked SOS only!' We have spent hours with Optus (her provider) and they cannot help. What can I do now? Do I take it back to...

Can't use it because it is locked.
