Acer neoTouch review

Another Windows Mobile handset from Acer, but with few standout features

Improved WinMO 6.5 ; Connectivity ; Fast and responsive ; Quality screen

Some icons are very small ; Camera quality disappointing ; Limited user memory

A fairly decent phone with most of the features you could need but it doesn't quite eclipse the best in class

Acer neoTouch S200

Acer's neoTouch S200 runs the new Windows Mobile 6.5 OS and is powered by a 1GHz processor. Niall checks it out.

Naturally, all the connectivity bases are covered off nicely. The phone is quad-band and supports HSDPA for fast data access on the move. There's also Bluetooth 2.1 EDR and Wi-Fi Wireless B and G (sadly N is not supported, but then it's hardly needed...

Acer neoTouch S200 review

Available in the UK only outside of normal network contracts, the Acer neoTouch S200 is a compact 3G smartphone taking Microsoft's latest Windows Mobile 6.5 user interface.

When there are so many phones that offer an approachable user experience, this phone’s interface remains a sad relic of the slow-motion car crash we know as Windows Mobile. We’d advise you to run, rather than walk, away. We’ve seen plenty of Acer...

Acer neoTouch review

The Acer neoTouch has been gazmuped by all the hype surrounding the epic HTC HD2. But the Windows Mobile 6.5-toting cell drew plenty of attention when it was first unleashed. So the question is, is it worth laying down your hard earned for? Read our...

Screen is lush and great for watching movies on the move

Resistive touchscreen, average camera

A decent smartphone without the killer touch of its big screen rivals

Acer neoTouch S200 review

For me, I am not convinced with these oversized devices, small, sleek and pocketable units are more preferable to me. That said for those gamers and video watchers of you I am sure you will love it

Acer neoTouch

The neoTouch is a big beastie and Acer is pitching it primarily at social media and multimedia fans. The 1GHz processor (a Snapdragon), is fast, and the 3.8 inch screen with its 480 x 800 pixels is a joy to behold, ideal for web browsing and viewing...

It's quite simply the big screen that makes the neoTouch worth a second, third and fourth glance. Acer neoTouch is tagged with Acer neoTouch, Acer, Windows Mobile 6.5 and touchscreen. Select a tag (Acer neoTouch, for example) to find everything on The...

Acer neoTouch review: The dragon within

It must be sweet October for Microsoft, with the launch of WinMo 6.5 on the 6th followed by the desktop Windows 7 on the 22nd. Acer are quick to sneak into the spotlight and make the most of the primetime coverage...

3.8" 65K-color resistive TFT touchscreen, WVGA 480 x 800 pixels ; Windows Mobile 6.5 with Acer Homescreen, Contacts, Agenda and Gallery ; Qualcomm Snapdragon 1GHz processor, 256MB RAM, 512MB ROM (300MB user available) ; 5 megapixel auto focus camera...

Not enough user interface customization ; No camera lens cover ; Poor photo and video quality ; microSD slot is under the back cover ; No DivX/XviD video support out-of-the-box ; No navigation software, even Google Maps is not preinstalled ; No active...

The Acer neoTouch is not just the next in the growing line of Windows Mobile 6.5 handsets. It's the top device of a company that's determined to enter the mobile phone game with a bang. The 1 GHz Snapdragon CPU is a great way to start and the other...

Acer neoTouch

The neoTouch is Acer's high-end mobile offering and is the latest phone to use Windows Mobile 6.5.

Large Good-Looking Screen ; Very Fast Processor ; Wi-Fi, GPS & 3G Support ; Good Productivity Features

Inconsistent UI ; Resistive Touchscreen ; Below-par Camera ; Average Audio & Video Playback

The Acer neoTouch is a decent phone if you are particularly impressed by Windows Mobile 6.5 and its exhaustive connectivity and productivity options. However, at Rs. 32,500, the Acer's shortcomings regarding its multimedia capabilities and its...
