Acer beTouch E130 review

The Acer beTouch E130 features a finger-friendly BlackBerry-style qwerty keypad and trackball - rare gems in the touchscreen-heavy Android market, which make tapping out emails a breeze.

Acer's beTouch E130 offers an affordable entry-point to Google Android, and its good connectivity options, social apps and combination of a touchscreen interface and qwerty keypad make this smartphone ideal for both work and play. It's restricted to...

Acer beTouch E130 Review

The beTouch may have the looks and performance, but it doesn't seem to know what it wants to be. Is it going to be a BlackBerry rival, or aim for the mainstream market as an Android phone with a keyboard? It doesn't fully achieve either, but does have...

: Looks good, feels good; long battery life; useful keyboard

: Average camera and a sometimes-lacking touchscreen

The Acer beTouch E130 is really a bit of a jack of all trades - not quite being the business device that the BlackBerry Bold is (or boasting such a bright screen), nor being as simple to use as other Android devices. It does look good, though.

Acer - beTouch E130

Acer's range of smartphones is wide and varied. The company offers both Windows Mobile and Android handsets, at high, mid range and low prices. Sitting at the lower end of the scale is the beTouch E130 ...

The Acer beTouch E130 is an interesting take on the Android based smartphone. It will appeal to a niche of users who like the idea of relatively easy text generation on the physical keyboard, don't require a large screen for multimedia work, and don't...

Decent design, but it has to make do with Android 1.6

Decent touchscreen performance, good qwerty keypad, stylish looks, reasonable price

Flimsy back cover, small screen not great for browsing, basic camera

of candy bar handset designs, you're probably also disappointed at the lack of Android smartphones available in this format. Acer's here to save the day, though, with its forthcoming Betouch E130.

Acer beTouch E130 Mobile Phone Review

Acer mixes the form factor of the BlackBerry with the power of an Android.

Good connectivity, great form-factor and awesome battery life

Small resistive screen, older version of Android and slow performance

Next to the trackball, you have six buttons- the call and end buttons are full height and easy to press but the remaining four buttons- home, back, menu and search can get accidentally pressed because of their small size.
