Apple TV 4K review

Recent updates have turned the Apple TV 4K into the best video streamer you can currently buy.

Substantial library of 4K HDR content ; Small, silent box ; Nice UI ; Useful voice control ; Strong picture and sound ; Almost every app you could ask for

Lack of some advanced audio formats ; All 4 still missing ; Universal search isn't quite universal

The gateway to on-demand 4K HDR movies you've been waiting for, now with extra apps and features

Apple TV 4K review

Now that it finally includes an app for Amazon video , Apple's 4K streaming box is the hands-down best product of its kind. But you should only buy one if you want a premium experience and are willing to pay for it.

The Apple TV 4K delivers the best streaming video available to compatible 4K, HDR and Dolby Vision TVs. It offers the most polished streaming experience today, the best remote on the market and excellent Siri voice options. It's just $30, £30 or AU$40...

The Apple TV 4K is expensive. It doesn't stream YouTube in 4K or offer Dolby Atmos audio. Cheaper streaming devices from Roku and others offer similar image quality and capabilities, as well as more 4K apps.

If you can swing the price and want the best streamer available today, get the Apple TV 4K.

Apple TV 4K review: The £179 media streamer, now with Amazon Video

Apple TV 4K may be entering the market late but it brings with it a host of features and will upgrade your HD content to 4K for free

Good support for 4K HDR content ; Siri voice search is brilliant ; No need to re-purchase existing iTunes HD content in 4K

Quite pricey ; Streaming service support is patchy

Later this year, the Apple TV app is due to come to the UK which will open up its capabilities further; putting more controls on the phone and making the whole experience seamless (or at least that’s the promise). Plus, with the upcoming launch of...

Apple TV 4K

Apple TV 4K review: If your smart TV is a bit thick and you're an Apple user then the Apple TV 4K is an essential addition to your entertainment arsenal.

Slick and powerful ; Siri voice controls are great ; Growing app store ; Clever remote ; Seamless setup, if you own an iPhone

Remote not great for gaming ; Automatic upscaling not always a benefit ; Some key apps missing ; Need to be an iPhone user to get the most out of it

The slickest TV streaming box around got the 4K HDR upgrade it needed. If your smart TV is a bit thick and you’re an Apple user then the Apple TV 4K is an essential addition to your entertainment arsenal.

Apple TV 4K review

Apple's little black box joins the 4K brigade with mostly great results

Excellent picture with 4K content ; Slick, speedy operation ; Great range of 4K films on iTunes

No YouTube 4K or Amazon (yet) ; Expensive ; Upscaling not always perfect

If you're a UHD movie addict, the new Apple TV 4K could be the (pricey) answer to your dreams

Apple TV 4K v Roku 3

The Roku 3 has been one of the most popular set-top boxes for a while now, but how will it fair against the new Apple TV 4K? We take a look.

If you’re an Apple fan, have an existing iTunes library, and use iOS devices, then it’s going to be hard to avoid the lure of the Apple 4K TV. Its integration with the Apple universe is a big factor, and one that would make sense to a lot of people....

Apple TV 4K review

  (Rating Hidden)

After a two-year wait, we finally have an update to the Apple TV set-top box, in the form of the Apple TV 4K. As the name suggests, this is Apple's first Ultra HD internet TV box, as well as being its most compact to date. It does however find itself...

Apple TV 4K review: Apple’s best streamer yet now comes with Amazon Prime Video

Still a little flaky from a content perspective, but Apple's 4K streamer is its most attractive TV box to date

Having said that, Apple has achieved quite the feat with its latest Apple TV. By thinking laterally and removing the financial pain of migrating your favourite files to 4K, Apple has created a huge incentive for current and former Apple fans to...

Review: Apple TV 4K

Apple is finally bringing the Apple TV into the 4K HDR present, making their erstwhile 'hobby' and set-top box compatible with the latest Ultra HD and 4K capable TVs.

Apple TV 4K Review

Apple finally upgrade their TV streaming box, adding 4K, HDR and Dolby Vision support. Does the new device eclipse the competition and have Apple...

Powerful processor ; Auto refresh rate and SDR/HDR ; Dolby Vision support ; Excellent and responsive interface ; Extensive selection of apps ; Cheaper movies on iTunes ; Existing iTunes library upgraded for free ; Attractive design and great build quality

Remote can be annoying ; Expensive

If you already have a 4K HDR TV with all the main video streaming and catch-up services, then you probably don't really need an Apple TV 4K unless you want access to iTunes. However if you use a projector or it's something that interests you and you're...
