Toshiba Chromebook

There's a lot to like about Toshiba's first Chromebook

Spacious and comfortable keyboard ; Quick boot-up times ; Good battery life ; Plenty of connectivity

Unresponsive trackpad ; High profile apps missing from Chrome Store ; No 3G or 4G connectivity option

We really have some issues with the display brightness as well. The default setting is far too dim to be useful so you'll need to crank it up reasonably high to get the best viewing experience. The screen is very reflective as well so it's not very...

Toshiba enters the Chromebook race strong

Excellent value ; Fantastic inputs ; Long battery life

Substandard screen ; Poor multitasking performance

Chromebooks are a bundle of contradictions, budget laptops that are both weird and brilliant, underpowered yet potent. They pack basic computing functionality into the Chrome OS, a web browser masquerading as an operating system. The search giant's OS...

Toshiba Chromebook review

Toshiba is the latest company to enter the Chromebook market with the aptly named Toshiba Chromebook. It's a larger device than most Chromebooks that have gone before it, offering a 13.3-inch screen in the familiar budget laptop format. Only the HP...

Affordable, easy to use, ample ports including HDMI output, good keyboard, slim design, Chrome OS continues to improve

Plasticky, screen has limited angle of view, outclassed by many tablets, needs internet connection for best use, app limitations

The power and quality of the Chromebook continues to grow. They've come to replace Netbooks in terms of the market area they sit and for a certain audience that will be just perfect for their computer needs. Something to write essays on, surf the web,...

Toshiba Chromebook review

A speedy Chromebook with a big screen, but patchy build quality and underwhelming ergonomics see it drop behind the best

In all, Toshiba’s Chromebook offers a persuasive internal specification, and is significantly cheaper than the Samsung Chromebook 2. The screen isn’t as generous as it may appear, though, and the ergonomics aren’t great. If you’re looking for a 13.3in...

Toshiba takes the Chromebook up to 13 inches

Surprisingly, the new Toshiba Chromebook is the first Chrome OS laptop with a 13-inch screen.

The 13-inch ; has a bigger screen and better keyboard than smaller 11-inch models, and battery life is excellent for a sub-$300 system. Ports include HDMI-out and dual USB 3.0.

This Chromebook suffers from the same limitations as other Chrome OS products, including the inability to run native software and very small onboard storage. Some other Chromebooks are branching out, with touch screens and higher resolutions.

Toshiba enters the growing Chromebook market with the first 13-inch model. It's a great size for switching between travel and home/office use and feels comfortable to type on, but other Chromebooks offer more features for the same price.

Toshiba Chromebook 2 review

Finally, a Chromebook with a great display — now it just needs more performance Since we first laid eyes on the new Toshiba Chromebook 2 at IFA, we knew that this may be one of the leading Chromebooks of the year. Sure it had basic specs just like all...

Toshiba has made a pretty solid follow-up to its original Chromebook effort from earlier this year, adding a great 1080p display to a basic chassis and filling it out with standard — though not spectacular — internal components. The supporting parts...

"Use this for travel, quick typing, etc."

Working and sharing in the Cloud will be the future. Ideal for school, educators, pupils and teachers.

Cheap/Up to date/Extremely fast startup time ( seconds )/No malware/Cloud-based/great display

Limited use without internet, but still a lot you can do offline.
