Samsung Series 3: Impressive Performance and Portability at an Affordable Price

Samsung is on a roll with its new "Series X" line of laptops. The Series 9 is an expensive, high-style ultraportable that provides real competition for the Macbook Air. The Series 5 was the first Google Chromebook to go on sale, and while we're not...

Good performance for the price ; Small, slim, and light

Display isn't as good as we expect from Samsung ; Poor touchpad rocker button

Samsung packs impressive performance into a small, light, and affordable laptop.

Review Samsung Series 3 350E7C-S08DE Notebook

Magic number seven. An Intel i7 processor, a 7670 AMD graphics card and a 750 GB hard drive all packed into a 17.3-inch notebook. It's easy to see Samsung is hot on the number seven. But are we hot on the notebook too?

Very high application performance, Reasonably minimal noise emission under load, Anti-reflective display, Good gaming performance, Useful input devices, Remains cool under load, Good performance for comparably little money and cool temperatures to boot

Slow hard drive, No second bay for a hard drive/SSD, Display has poor contrast, Low brightness in battery mode, Unimpressive case stability, Short battery life, More contrast and brightness for the display and very importantly: no loss of brightness in...

Review Samsung Series 3 350V5C Notebook

Affordable quality? Samsung tries to address both overall value and the quality of the hardware and offers the NP350V5C at an attractive price point - but equipped with a quad-core processor, middle-class AMD GPU, and 8 GB of RAM. How does the...

Matte display, Low weight, Price-performance ratio, Battery life, Keyboard, The low weight and very fair price

Touchpad, Not very sturdy, Lower performance when running on battery, Higher rigidity and resilience - especially around the keyboard area and for the display lid itself

Samsung NP350 (U2B-A02)

Samsung's NP350 was not our top ultraportable performer for 2011. It's right on the average battery life, weight and volume of the models we've tested. Still, it combines a set of reliable, well-implemented features into a solid build, at a...

Clear, non reflective screen. Slimline body. Excellent battery life in comparison to previous laptops I've had. Plenty of storage.

Windows 8 takes some getting used to but I'm getting there. Nothing in particular to report about the laptop itself though.

Samsung NP350V5C-A09UK

Light and easy to use. Battery lasts over 5 hours (although I don't yet know how many recharges it will sustain before it bites the dust). The keyboard is well-spaced and keys work positively. The system as a whole works well enough for my needs, which...

The keypad functions are too complex for my needs although they can be controlled or the pad turned off. I tend to use Desktop mode most of the time so I find Windows 8 can be a nuisance!
