Microsoft Surface Book review: Surface Book 2 is here, but what's new?

The Surface Book, while hideously expensive, is still fantastic, but how much better is the Surface Book 2?

In my eyes, either the Dell XPS 13 or XPS 15 are better buys at this kind of price range, but if you have the budget and the wanton need for such a lavishly luxurious device, the Surface Book certainly won’t disappoint.

Surface Book i7 vs MacBook Pro

Microsoft has announced an updated, more powerful Surface Book, and Apple has (at last) updated the MacBook Pro. But how do these two top-end laptops compare, and which is best? It's Surface Book i7 vs MacBook Pro

It’s too early to come to any firm conclusions since we haven’t yet run our benchmarks on these laptops. But even without confirmed battery runtimes or performance scores, it’s clear that they are two different machines. The Surface Book is much more...

Microsoft Surface Book review

  (Rating Hidden)

Microsoft calls its Surface Book the 'ultimate laptop'. It's a heady claim, but on paper the specifications are certainly impressive, and the fully detachable screen is an eye-catching feature. It's soon to be surpassed with the Surface Book 2, but in...

Microsoft Surface Book review: It's expensive, very expensive

Microsoft works its design magic, but while it gets a lot right, the Surface Book is outlandishly expensive

Read Microsoft’s bullish marketing material for the Surface Book, and you’ll recognise a company that has got its confidence back, and for good reason. This is yet another slick, impressive addition to the Surface family.

Microsoft’s updated Surface Book is a big, powerful brute of a laptop

A year ago, Microsoft set out to prove to the world that a Windows laptop could hang with the best MacBooks from Apple. The Surface Book, with its head-turning design, wild hinge technology, and...

Microsoft Surface Book

It's a great laptop for work, it's quick and reliable!

The battery is good but I do have days that by 4pm it's struggling and I don't tend to carry the charger so that can be a worry!

Microsoft Surface Book

Detachable screen, ease of use, touchscreen works well. Performance is pretty good.

Doesn't seem to keep up with my CAD program as well as I'd hoped but still does reasonably well. Battery doesn't seem to last as long as it says it should but it could be something I'm doing wrong.
