Lenovo ThinkPad E450

The Lenovo ThinkPad E450 is a moderately priced business laptop with a professional-looking design and a work-friendly feature set.

Professional business design. Anti-glare screen. Good keyboard feel. Dual pointing devices. Good battery life.

Keyboard is not backlit. Sealed battery.

The Lenovo ThinkPad E450 is a very good choice for a laptop to outfit your small business. It's moderately priced, has a full HD screen, speedy Core i5 power, and very good battery life. That said, the Toshiba Tecra C50-B1503 holds on as our top pick...

Lenovo ThinkPad E450 Notebook Review

E as in Entry-level. Have 14-inch devices come back into fashion? The manufacturer offers a bundle including a dedicated graphics card, Full HD, an SSD, and a Broadwell Core i5 for an aggressive price. Is it a companion for university work and games...

Handy size, Full HD resolution, Long battery life, Quiet and frugal, Good microphone, High performance SSD, Docking port, Decent input devices

Low brightness of the TFT, especially on battery, Limited capability of current games, Difficult to remove, damaged maintenance hatch, Fixed, not easy to replace battery, Poor web cam

With a rating of 80%, Lenovo appears to make a lot of things right in the ThinkPad E450. The SSD combined with a thrifty 15-Watt SoC ensures long battery runtimes and a frugal, quiet operation. The Full HD display provides a lot of screen real estate....

Lenovo ThinkPad E450 Review

Despite the E450's modest size, this 14-inch laptop features a full HD display and comes in a variety of different configurations. Is the E450 as good as it sounds or do you get what you pay for?

Lightweight ; Dual mouse pointer controls ; Decent battery life ; Quiet

The chassis feels cheap ; Mediocre screen quality ; Frequent WiFi signal loss ; Only available with Windows 7 at this time

Mixed impression

For me the screen quality is unacceptable.

Everything works out of the box. Great keyboard and trackpad. Inexpensive. Easily upgradable. No useless DVD drive. Relatively light. Good battery life. Solid build, looks good.

Very narrow view angle. Much worse than expected. You have to look straight to the center of the screen under the right angle, otherwise the colors are messed up and washed out.

That's where the Lenovo ThinkPad E450 and its larger sibling the E550 come in. The E series is the affordable ThinkPad line that's the much improved replacement of the ThinkPad Edge series. The 4 pound, 1" thick E450 looks like a ThinkPad rather than a...
