HP Chromebook x360 14 G1 review: A giant, powerful convertible that most people don't need

HP loaded up its Chromebook x360 14 G1 with some high-end parts, but the result is too unwieldy to work well as a convertible, and it's expensive, too.

Fast, fast, fast ; Excellent keyboard and giant trackpad

Heavy and very big ; Display is dull and dim ; Tablet mode is difficult to use comfortably

There’s no denying the Chromebook x360 14 G1’s tremendous speed. What is up for debate is whether you actually need it. No matter what type of work you do, you’ll be using web and mobile apps to do it, which kind of defeats the purpose of a quad-core...

HP Chromebook 14 G1 Notebook Review

Cute. HP adroitly shows us just how much laptop a Chromebook must have. We get solid build and power wrapped up in a classy design for approximately 375 Euros (~$406). Of course, some compromises will have to be made for this price.

Appealing design, Solid build, System performance, Decent input devices, Noise and temperature development

Maintenance options, TN screen's viewing angle stability, Possible restriction by Chrome OS

HP creates a well-conceived, 14-inch Chromebook with its G1. Users who limit themselves to fundamental tasks, such as office and Internet applications, and do not overdo it with them, will find a good companion in our review sample. We liked the design...

Works great

Good value for the price I would recommend it.

Got it for my mother who doesn't need a full PC but just needed a web browser and the fact that she felt comfortable with a laptop style device rather than a tablet etc. which made it a good fit . It is a fast, very well built device, looks good and she...

The only thing i can really think of is webcam is only 720p, which in 2016 is sub par, but it is a low to mid range priced device.

carefull

Never, I have the 2GB which looks exactly the same and is way better, super fast, quite, a lot lighter, cool running and no fan.

looks good

This is heavier than the other model that looks the same. It also does not have the option of being cellular as stated in the description. It also gets hot and has a fan unlike the other model. Returning it will cost you about 50 bucks.... And is a...

This Chromebook rocks!

Price can't be beat for $199.

Nice, solid build and feel. Keyboard is very nice and of course Chromebook performance and extra goodies: 100GB of free storage for 2 years, ans 12 go-go inflight passes

No cons -

What an amazing value.

I've purchased a second for a family member, working as intended!

Takes care of 90% of your laptop needs. Syncs with all google apps and includes all comparable Office tools but googles version. Very happy with this product at this price.

For $179.99 I can't identify a negative for the amount value you get out of this thing.
