Dell XPS 13 Review: The best Windows laptop of 2018 so far

Dell XPS 13 (2018) review: The best Windows laptop money can buy

Beautiful design ; Great audio ; Comfortable keyboard ; Solid performance

No full-sized SD card reader or USB ports ; Screen not ideal for artists

The XPS 13 is the best all-round, small-form-factor Windows 10 laptop you can buy, but it isn’t quite perfect.

Dell XPS 13 2-in-1

Forget what you know about Dell's XPS range: the 13-inch 2-in-1 is a return to the hybrid form factor last seen with the launch of the ill-fated XPS 12 in 2015.

Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 review

Take the best Windows ultraportable and make it a convertible - what's not to like?

Great trackpad and keyboard combo ; Thin and light ; Classic Dell build quality

No USBs ; Expensive ; Not a performance powerhouse

A top-quality ultra-portable hybrid, but it’s not for penny-pinchers or performance fiends

Dell XPS 13 (2017) review

The best laptop to date once again

Incredible performance ; Amazing battery life ; Great value ; Lots of options

Webcam orientation still a bother ; Poor speaker placement

The continuing marriage of panache, performance and price allows us to overlook minor design flaws and once again bestow the Dell XPS 13 with our Best in Class award.

Dell XPS 13 (2016) review

Leading the pack all over again

Faster than ever ; Same long-lasting battery ; SD card slot ; Great range of prices

Still poor webcam position ; No Windows Hello

The Dell XPS 13 is like a tortoise surrounded by hares, taking its time in adopting fresh, new tech to deliver an excellent, modern experience that doesn’t leave legacy users behind. Plus, it’s just bloody gorgeous.

Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 review

A pristine hybrid laptop, but not a very powerful one

Gorgeous design and screen ; Excellent keyboard and trackpad ; Centered webcam

Low in power ; Middling battery life

Dell’s first XPS 13 2-in-1 nails the aesthetics of translating its own winning clamshell laptop into a convertible hybrid. However, low-power parts keep it from remaining competitive with the lot of flagship 2-in-1 laptops.

Dell XPS 13 9360 Developer Edition review

An even more tempting Linux laptop offering

Modern OS ; Useful improvements across the board ; Probably the best Ultrabook (still)

OS update still required for optimal performance ; QHD+ model is expensive ; Not really worth it if you already have the 9350

The best Linux Ultrabook in the world just got a tiny bit better. A new processor, an updated operating system, better battery life and that same sumptuous screen make this one hard to resist.

Dell XPS 13 (late 2017) review

Editors' note, Nov. 13 : A score for the Dell XPS 13 reviewed here was incorrectly reported as 401 for the Cinebench R15 CPU benchmark test . The correct score is 624. The comparison charts that follow this review have been updated accordingly. The...

The Dell XPS 13 keeps everything that was great about the previous model -- including its nearly edge-to-edge-display, Thunderbolt 3 USB-C and fantastic keyboard -- and adds eighth-gen Intel processors paired with Dell technologies for a big...

The thin frame around the display means the webcam is placed at the bottom of the display. Though the QHD-resolution touchscreen is beautiful, it adds a lot to the price and hurts battery life. Gold version will cost you $50 more.

With increased performance and battery life, Dell's premium ultraportable XPS 13 remains easy to recommend.

Dell XPS 13 9365 Review: Updated Windows Laptop/Tablet Convertible

Dell's XPS 13 9365 convertible offers two Windows 10 devices in one, packing premium specs & the kind of flexibility that creative professionals will love.

Flexible ; Great keyboard ; Smooth performance ; Rugged, premium design

Stylus sold separately ; Pricey

If you’re after a professional device that’s fully flexible, the XPS 13 9365 is a solid option. It’s not exactly cheap, but like Apple’s Macbooks, you get what you pay for. Dependable performance, impressive craftsmanship and strong creative creds make...

Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 review: The XPS gets slimmer, but its price soars

Dell has another stab at the hybrid concept with its XPS 13 2-in-1, but has it learned from past mistakes?

The thinnest XPS yet ; Beautiful InfinityEdge display ; Oodles of versatility

Expensive

Still, within its market there’s nothing out there to challenge the XPS 13 2-in-1. If you’re tempted by the hybrid idea, and you have the disposable income, Dell’s XPS 13 2-in-1 is without a doubt your best buy.
