Dell Precision M4800 review

A portable workstation that packs a punch

Powerful CPU performance ; Excellent GPU performance ; 32GB of memory available ; Huge array of expansion ports

TN screen has poor colour reproduction ; Hybrid hard disks aren't great ; Like most workstations, it's big, heavy and ugly

While it might not be the most attractive laptop on the market the Dell Precision M4800 packs a punch when it comes to specs. There are some negatives that hold it back from being truly great, however.

Very upgradable machine 32 GB ram mSATA slot Optical drive can be replaced with battery Very good price, no similar specs from other laptop brands

No FireWire ports 1394a,b A trend with all new laptops. It's a shame one has to get a clunky expresscard just to get a tiny port like this.
