Sony HT-CT150 review: Sony HT-CT150

For 2010, Sony released an updated version, the HT-CT150, and little has changed on the features front. Sure, its HDMI inputs are now 3D compatible , but otherwise the feature selection is nearly identical, which is fine since the competition still...

Three HDMI inputs; excellent sound quality for a sound bar home theater system; no AV receiver required; capable of switching between six devices.

IR receiver on the subwoofer limits its placement options; subwoofer isn't wireless; cluttered remote.

Sony's HT-CT150 sound bar home theater system sounds great and is way ahead of the competition with its three HDMI inputs; however, its IR receiver limits the subwoofer's placement options.

Sony HT-CT150 3D Soundbar Reviewed

Some people just need a simple, affordable sound system for their TV. In the old days - CRT televisions had suitable speakers. Today's uber-thin HDTVs don't have much room for beaming audio solutions. For those looking for upgraded sound without a big...

The HC-CT150 looks great and is put together very well

The HC-CT150's subwoofer can't be located out of sight, as its remote eye is on the front ; The HC-CT150 sounded lightweight and shallow overall, which loweredmusic's power and pacing and the impact and excitement of movies andgames ; The HC-CT150 will...

The HC-CT150 presents an interesting quandary. On one hand, it offers a very powerful combination of features, connectivity, and cosmetics. It looks great and keeps a very lowprofile, it offers HDMI switching as well as Dolby Digital and DTSdecoding, and...

Combining powerful output, a broad sound stage and a wide variety of connectivity options, the Sony HT-CT150 sound bar brings superior home theater sound to your living room. Three HMDI ports ensure phenomenal sound quality, while the HT-CT150's...

Exceptional power output and HDMI connectivity result in superior sound quality

The wired subwoofer limits how far you can place it from the sound bar

With unrivaled power output, numerous connections and first-class customer support, the Sony HT-CT150 is the best entry-level sound bar on the market.

"Great for awhile"

Not sure if I'd purchase brand again. Can send to Sony for repair at cost of packing, shipping and additionaol repair charge of $119 to Sony.

better than TV sound. Easy to set up.

After 2 years it has stopped working. Turned it off one night and next morning no sound. Tried cold reset, switched HDMI cable but still no sound. Thought it would last more than 2 years

"Great Performance for the price"

I bought this to hook up with my Panasonic VT50, Cable Set Top Box, and PS3. I am not ready to take the plunge for a high quality AV Receiver and Surround Sound System, but I did want something that would be adequate to hold me over until that time. I...

"Dependable Sony quality for a competitive price"

Exactly what I expected for the money. I bought it for my master bedroom and it does a good job filling it with sound. I would say the sound quality is above average but I'm kind of wishing I'd spent a few more hundred and got better system. That's not...

Good theatre kick from subwoofer. Ample bass

Wired subwoofer. Could use a few more amps.

Simply Amazing!

Honestly, I was a bit worried about some of the negative reviews on here for this item, but with all of the features I needed, like hdmi 3d passthrough, ARC, and support for some of the nicer audio codecs, I had to pull the trigger and buy this...

Awesome Sound Bar

This is a great sound bar, it has a crisp and clean sound. I\'ve heard other sound bars in stores and there are definetely some better one\'s out there. But if you\'re looking for one for a small-mid size room (16x16 or smaller), then this is perfect....
