Sennheiser HD 700 review

The Sennheiser HD 700s offer a wide-open, crystal-clear sound that audio purists will appreciate. Thankfully, they've been built well enough to protect that £600 investment.

Very open sound ; Extremely clear audio ; Good build quality

Pricey ; Not particularly warm

The HD 700s offer a modern, striking design and a reassuringly sturdy build. Their ability to reproduce excellently clear, open audio will be particularly welcome to fans of classical and live music, although the hardened bass nuts might want to look...

Six hundred pound headphones with cracking sound quality.

Excellent detail ; Extremely comfortable ; Great build quality

Not an HD 800-beater ; Some may prefer brighter signature

European Hi-Fi Headphone 2012-2013

Sennheiser has been at the forefront of headphone development for decades, experience reflected in the engineering of its new HD 700 model. Instantly recognisable by its elegant and very modern aesthetic, this open circumaural design incorporates a...

Review: Sennheiser HD 700

These high-end hi-fi headphones don't come cheap, but they sound incredibly refined and have an expansive, laid-back sound. Are they worth it?

Very detailed sound and expansive soundstage; light but well built; one of the most comfortable circumaural headphones we've tried

Very expensive; could do with a tad more bass

As we've mentioned earlier, S$1,399 is a lot of money to spend on headphones, and you should be able to find many good circumaural cans on the market for well under that amount. However, if you're looking to step up from Sennheiser's midrange and into...

REVIEW: Sennheiser HD 700 Headphones

A mid-range audiophile offering may sound like a clumsy stepping stone for Sennheiser between their HD 650s and HD 800 headphones, but the HD 700s are anything but. We dive into sonic sublimity with the Sennheiser HD 700 headphones in our full review....

It's another direct hit from Sennheiser who, after the equally impressive RS 220 wireless headphones, are well on course for a stellar line up this year. Comfortable, detailed, easy to drive and a fair sight cheaper than the HD 800s, the HD 700...

Sennheiser HD700 Review

If you like listening to high-quality music or if you like to be called an audiophile, you'd probably have heard about Sennheiser. If you're even more enthusiastic, you'd also have read about the HD650 and the HD800. The HD650 has been a legendary pair...

When it comes to weight, the HD700 headphones might sound heavy in the spec sheet as they weigh close to 1.6 kg. However, wear them and you’ll realise that they really aren’t that heavy at all. The insides of the cans are extremely spacious so there’s...

Sennheiser HD 700

Sennheiser's new HD 700 ($999.95) over-the-ear headphones sound "effortless," without strain, harshness or aggressive edge. Their stereo soundstage is more open and spacious than you'll hear from most audiophile headphones, and the bass, midrange,...

The Sennheiser HD 700 is a large, full-size audiophile headphone model with a wide-open sound profile and transparency that sounds great on digital music players.

The HD 700 is very expensive, so some buyers might be put off by the amount of plastic used in the design.

Sennheiser's HD 700 isn't just one of the best-sounding headphone models we've tested, it's also remarkably comfortable to wear for hours at a time.

Thanks L, I’ve been rethinking this and might try the HE-500 instead.
