Plantronics RIG 800LX review: A gaming headphone that doesn't look too garish

Looking for a gaming headphone that doesn't look garish and has unnecessary RGB lights? The Plantronics RIG 800LX could be just for you.

Great clarity and dynamics ; Comfortable and light ; Excellent battery life ; Works with all major platforms

Slight distortion on higher volumes ; Odd adjustment system ; Mic picks up ambient noises despite noise-cancelling

Plantronics RIG 800LX review: A comfy wireless headset with Dolby Atmos and subpar bass

Lightweight, comfortable, and with Dolby Atmos support, the Plantronics RIG 800LX would be one of our favorite wireless headsets ever—if it weren't for a bass driver that's prone to heavy distortion.

Comfortable and incredibly lightweight, especially for a wireless headset ; Dolby Atmos support is a neat novelty ; Long-lasting battery

All-plastic construction feels fragile ; Unintuitive and cumbersome sizing adjustment ; Bass and treble both distort even at moderate volumes

That breakdown in audio fidelity is frustrating, because in most respects the Plantronics RIG 800LX is an excellent headset. It’s incredibly comfortable, lightweight, and durable, and it sounds good to boot.
