Grado GS1000i

Can you justify spending £1000 on headphones?

Lightweight ; Comfortable ; Crystal clear sound

Expensive

If you're willing to spend £1000 on headphones, you'll hopefully have already put some thought into what sets you should be looking at. There's no doubting the GS1000i are one of the best, with superb levels of detail on-hand and far greater comfort...

Grado GS1000i review

Grado's updated GS1000i is a comfortable, innovative and first-class performer

Glorious resolution ; Excellent tonal neutrality ; Endless rhythmic vivacity

Certainly a superb transducer, capable of astonishingly high performance standards. Now facing stiff competition, it still demands an audition

Grado GS1000i

A fabulous pair of headphones: they?re not for the train, and they don?t protect those around you from hearing what you?re listening to ? but for sheer sonic pleasure they?re stunning

Extraordinarily open and detailed; clarity and realism, great dynamics

Very leaky, sonically speaking; odd-looking when worn

Grado GS1000i review

These retro-styled open-backed cans might look weird, but their price suggests stonking performance. Will we believe our ears?

They’re not for the train, but for sheer sonic pleasure these are the leaders of the class

Grado GS1000i Statement Series Headphones Review

Many of our readers might not have heard of Grado, however in audiophile circles they are known as one of the best headphone manufacturers on the planet. They have been in the Audio industry for over 50 years now and are one of the leaders in design...

Incredible dynamics ; Soundstaging is immense ; little colouration ; custom crafted mahogany wood finish is lovely ; quite easy to drive ; exceptionally well balanced

expensive ; looks might not appeal to everyone ; need serious partnering equipment ; packaging is rubbish ; need a long time to bed in for optimum quality

KitGuru says: The fact that Grado make an even more expensive set of Headphones – the PS1000 (£1,700) means there is possibly room for even higher levels of output quality. Right now I find that hard to believe.

Multi-award winning, audiophile, open-backed headphones with dynamic transducers and an eight-conductor cable design. Recently improved (thus the ‘i') to “optimise the tonal quality”. The good Forget modern titanium alloys and carbon fibre struts,...

It’s an almost indefensible amount of money to spend on headphones but your ears will thank you for decades. Old school quality, built to last. Grado GS1000i is tagged with Grado GS1000i, Grado and headphones. Select a tag (Grado GS1000i, for example)...

Grado GS1000i

Despite their large size remarkably comfortable for longer listening sessions. Great sound. Arguably the best of the Grado range. Includes extension cable and jack adaptor.

Open design does leak sound if others are about. Obviously not cheap.
