Focal Listen Wireless

Focal Listen Wireless review: These Bluetooth headphones offer good sound and value for money, although they aren't the most comfortable long-term listen.

Good value ; Clear, clean and wide sound

Headband becomes uncomfortable ; Less bass power than some

Full-size headphones with great sound and value, but long-term comfort could be better

Focal Listen Wireless review

The Focal Listen Wireless doesn't reach the French company's usual standards.

Smooth sound ; Solid organisation ; Acceptably poised midrange

Creaky headband ; Humdrum low frequency response ; Lacklustre overall performance

A pair of headphones that doesn't manage to stand out from the crowd

Focal Listen Wireless review

Stellar-sounding but basic wireless headphones

Balanced, audiophile sound ; Good noise isolation ; 20-hour battery life

No multipoint Bluetooth or ANC ; Disappointing value ; Fingerprint and dust magnet

The Focal Listen Wireless offer phenomenal sound but little else. Without multipoint Bluetooth, active noise cancellation or auto play/pause these headphones feel antiquated when compared to the competition.

Focal Listen review

Focal's produced a pleasing pair of portable headphones...

Solid build ; Rich bass ; Smooth treble ; Good amount of detail

Need more punch and aggression ; Not as comfortable as other headphones

A pair of headphones that can go loud with a rich and insightful sound

Focal Listen review

Some of the best high-end headphones that don't destroy the bank

Excellent build quality ; Rich, balanced sound ; Great noise isolation

Uncomfortable after long periods ; Awkward remote

The Focal Listen ticks all the right boxes, offering excellent sound and build quality at a mostly affordable price. Overall, the Focal Listen offer a thoroughly enjoyable listening experience. I love their balance, build quality and understated design...

Focal Listen review: Wired headphones with a vocal-forward neutral sound profile

Affordable and comfortable, as wired-only headphones go the Focal Listen make a good case. Only the sound profile is a bit too thin, so will only be

Vocal tracks have best potential ; Good sound isolation without active cancellation ; Comfortable to wear

Design feels plasticky ; Neutral profile ultimately lacks bass and sounds too thin and without drive ; No Bluetooth or noise-cancellation

That's the long and the short of the Focal Listen. If you're looking for wired-only headphones that are comfortable and affordable then these cans tick both boxes.

Focal Listen Wireless review

You may not have heard of French audio company Focal , but among audiophiles its speakers and headphones stand in high regard. The Listen Wireless is the company's first crack at a full-size premium Bluetooth headphone.

The Focal Listen Wireless has a sturdy design, fits comfortably and snugly, and sounds excellent for a Bluetooth headphone. It folds up to fit in an included neoprene case and comes with a cable for wired listening. It also works well for making calls.

The sound is a tad bright, which can make some music sound harsh. Heavier than some competing models. Lacks active noise cancellation.

Focal's Listen Wireless is well-built Bluetooth headphone with rich, refined sound imbued with a lot of presence -- perhaps too much for some people.

Focal Listen review

You may not have heard of French company Focal, but it makes some very good-sounding headphones. The latest case in point is its new Listen closed-back over-ear headphone, which retails for $249. No word yet on an international launch, but that price...

The Focal Listen has a sturdy design and a comfortable and snug fit, and it sounds excellent for the price. Detachable cable includes an integrated one-button remote. The headphone folds up to fit in an included neoprene case.

Headphone is a tad heavy, may fit a little too snugly for some folks, and may not have enough bass for some listeners.

French company Focal's closed-back, over-ear headphone is designed for mobile use and delivers excellent sound for $250.

Focal Listen Wireless review

Focal's Listen Wireless headphones cut the cord but kept the amazing performance.

Clear and balanced sound ; Very comfy to wear ; Good noise isolation ; Killer battery life

We could’ve used a little more bass ; No multipoint Bluetooth

Like its predecessor, the Focal Listen is aimed at listeners who want balance to accommodate their varied tastes in music. Those seeking to exclusively indulge in hip hop or electronica would be better off looking elsewhere. For that reason, these...

Focal Listen review

The Focal Listen are audiophile cans made for everyone.

Excellent balanced audio ; Good bass, without pushing too far ; Great comfort around ears ; Easy to pack along

A little bulky and weighted ; Inline controls lack volume button

The lack of boosted bass in the Focal Listen is actually addition by subtraction. Some listeners will probably feel the lows don’t pulsate enough, whereas others, especially audiophiles, will feel the balance is more in tune with what the artists...
