Monster Beats Pro by Dr Dre

Astonishing bass for a set of headphones, an exciting, tight listen

That bass excellence means transparency suffers a little

Brilliant at what they do well; if you like that, you’ll love them

Beats Pro by Dr. Dre

If London's 2012 Olympic Games are anything to go by, then there's no chance to forget about Dre. The hip-hop Doc's range of headphones have not only infiltrated a generation, they've made their way to high-profile athletes' ears too. Although, such...

Comfortable, choice of cable positioning (L/R), plenty of bass, generally good audio quality, foldable design

Very expensive, a little too heavy, audio quality not the very best at louder volumes, incorrect positioning will make audio sound off

There’s no doubt that the Beats Pro over-ears mean business. They look the part, and are superbly built - but they are ex-pen-sive and a bit too heavy.

Plantronics BackBeat Pro (review): A more affordable alternative to Beats and Bose with an office slant

The BackBeat Pro may not be the sexiest looking headphones, but they sound decent, are comfortable and include noise-canceling to help you shut out unwanted office chatter.

The Plantronics BackBeat Pro features both wireless Bluetooth and noise-canceling in a sturdy, comfortable design. The headphones sound decent, are packed with features, have excellent battery life and come with a nice carrying pouch.

Design has a little too much of an office vibe to it; fairly heavy at 360 grams; bass and treble may be a little too hyped for some people.

Despite some small drawbacks, the feature-packed Plantronics BackBeat Pro is an intriguing option for those looking for a wireless headphone with active noise-cancelling.

Beats Pro by Dr. Dre from Monster

Outfitted with flip-up ear cups and a detachable cable to suit the modern DJ, the Beats Pro by Dr. Dre from Monster offers high quality audio performance.

Excellent audio performance with strong, but not overwhelming, bass response. DJ-style flip-up ears for mixing. Detachable cable and jacks on each ear piece.

Expensive. Not comfortable when worn for long periods of time.

Beats Pro High-Performance (White) review

It's been three years since the world was first introduced to the Beats by Dr. Dre headphone line, and it's definitely grown to become a Monster of a business (pun intended). From earbuds to portable speakers to iPod docks to laptops, Dr. Dre and...

Quality construction; dual input/output audio ports for communal listening; thumping bass; ear cushions can be removed and replaced.

May not be comfortable for everyone; weight is a little on the heavy side; some songs can sound harsh; travel case doesn't match up to the professional packaging of its predecessors.

The Beats Pro by Dr. Dre from Monster Headphones deliver a sturdy design and top-notch sound quality for those who enjoy skull-shattering bass. If you're a casual listener and can afford them, they're a worthy investment, but if you're an audio purist...

Monster Beats Pro

The Monster Beats Pros are a set of higher-end closed-backed over-ear headphones with a very rugged build and high amount of flair. They perform well enough, but they have a very heavy bass response and little in the way of noise attenuation or...

Good tracking and distortion

Terrible isolators ; Not hugely comfortable ; Bass boosted way out of proportion

Not studio headphones, not bad headphones.

Monster Beats by Dr Dre Pro headphones

The Monster Beats by Dr Dre Pro Headphones are built to last, and they'll deliver a high-quality, dance-ready mix wherever you happen to be.

Second-to-none construction ; High quality sound ; Thumping bass ; Dual input/output audio ports for communal listening ; Ear cushions can be removed and replaced

Not comfortable for everyone ; White leather will stain easily

Beats by Dr. Dre – Beats Pro (White) Review

It's no secret that Beats by Dr. Dre headphones have become a world wide phenomenon. On average you will probably spot at minimum of two people a day sporting them. This isn't just on a national level, but an international level as well. Just recently...

Low-end is alive and well; solid construction down to the cable; dual input/output audio ports; comfy ear cups that can also be easily wiped clean

Could be too heavy to wear for some; Flip-up ear cups are a nice touch but don't work to well in practical use; carrying case is a bit disappointing

The Beats Pro are certainly an impressive looking pair of headphones. There hasn’t been one person who hasn’t commentated on them when I take them out of my bag or travel with them. This time around Beats got it right by constructing a pair of...
