Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7

The perfect marriage of sound and style

Excellent balanced sound ; Very comfy for long sessions ; Handy removable cable

A tiny bit creak-prone

However, there’s still plenty of life in the M50X if you like your headphones with plenty of bite. Their chunky design also feels like it can take a bit more abuse than the MSR7, although this may be a red herring.

Hands on: Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7b review

Wired, yes; tired, definitely no

Incredibly comfortable ; Light ; Great sounding

Wires will put some off ; No wireless option ; Pricier than the cans they replace

The Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7bs come from great stock. They succeed a pair of headphones that have been a high watermark for affordable wired listening for a number of years now and early indicators are that they improve on them in a variety of ways. The...

Audio-Technica ATH-ADG1X Open Air Gaming Headset review

Comfort and sound quality

Very comfortable ; Nice design ; Fantastic sound quality ; Very good microphone ; Extension cable included

Expensive ; Not as many features as competitors ; Open design leads to sound leak

The Audio-Technica ATH-ADG1X is an excellent premium gaming headset for people who think that sound quality is an essential part of enjoying games. The Audio-Technica ATH-ADG1X gaming headset is a very expensive set of cans, and for many people that...

Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7 review

These over-ear headphones bring both performance and value

Elegant design ; Includes lots of goodies ; Incredible sound performance

Tight fit ; No inline volume control

If you're looking for a set of over-ear headphones with chops in performance and design, it could cost you a lot. But the MSR7 brings the Hi-Res ruckus for a much more affordable price.

Audio Technica ATH-MSR7 review

These attractive cans are a comfortable fit, but is sound quality up to scratch?

Clear, open sound ; Decent detail ; Comfortable fit

Thin, lean balance ; Bass lacks weight and music lacks drive ; Slight coarseness further up the frequency range

The lack of quality combined with a relatively high price leaves them struggling - better options exist that don’t cost as much...

Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7 headphones review: Neutral over-ears are positively priced

We've been seeing over-ear headphones rain from the skies over the last couple of years, as one of the fastest expanding areas in tech. With new names entering the fold, the long-time established brands, such as Audio-Technica, are fighting back with...

Excellent neutral audio, comfortable to wear for hours at a time, solid build quality, excellent price point

Would prefer less prominent branding (including the “left/right” markings), mid-high push less natural

There may be no Bluetooth wireless and no active noise-cancellation, but the overall quality of the Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7 means that, ultimately, we don’t really care. These are classic yet contemporary cans - and for the £200 asking price you'd be...

Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7 review

Find out why the Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7 are one of the best headphones for their price.

They might not be the complete package, but Audio-Technica has created some seriously good sounding headphones here. The ATH-MSR7 offer good build and stylish design, although they aren't the most comfortable or portable around. What we're most taken...

Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7 review

  (Rating Hidden)

The Audio Technica ATH-MSR7 are large over-ear headphones, and look like a serious bit of kit. At more than £150, they aren't exactly a budget choice, but considering competitors sell similar models for nearly twice as much, they could represent...

Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7 headphones review

The sound boffins at Audio-Technica are back with their latest pair of over-ear headphones, the ATH-MSR7, which promise to deliver top-notch sound and high-res audio support, all in a slick package that costs just £199. Are they worthy of being your...

The Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7 headphones might not be able to square up to Beats in the fashion department, but they manage to hit out where it matters and that’s sound quality. You’ll find the headphones come with redesigned 45mm drivers that punch out...

With top notch sound quality, there’s not too much to complain about the Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7 headphones. While their styling might not be for everyone, as they are a little on the bland side, but when they sound as good as they do it doesn’t matter...

If you’re after a pair of do-all over-ear headphones, the Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7 headphones should be high up on your want list. For (non-wireless) easy listening in almost any scenario, the ATH-MSR7 headphones are among the best you can buy for under...

Audio Technica ATH-MSR7 Headphone Review

Slip on something a little more comfortable…

Refined yet entertaining sound ; Extremely good build ; Very comfortable....

...if you aren't wearing glasses ; Slightly dull looks ; No hard carry case.

The Audio Technica is a headphone that manages to do a hell of a lot of things right. For £200 you have a headphone that trades off a little portability for a huge amount of capability. If you are a design guru, the Sennheiser Momentum is still the...
