Audeze LCD-3

There's no denying the LCD-3s are expensive, but such is the quality of their performance that they almost seem like good value

A solid, authoritative presentation ; Excellent detail resolution coupled to impressive refinement ; Fine rhythmic ability

A bit big and heavy ; They need a headphone amplifier with decent drive to perform at their best ; Top-quality sources are mandatory

The LCD-3s use an open-backed design. This means they leak sound into the room. A lot.

Audeze LCD3 Planar Magnetic Headphones

Audeze has produced an elite product and at $1945 its price does put it in a league unattainable by most. However, think about how much would it cost to build a 2 channel full size speaker system capable of the performance of the LCD3? A heck of a lot...

Audeze LCD-3 Review

The Audeze LCD-3 are the best-sounding headphones that plug into a standard headphone jack. The LCD-3 bring us the sound of the concert hall, and also have an amazing ability to rejuvenate classic old recordings into something much cleaner and smoother...

Audeze LCD3 Planar Magnetic Headphones Reviewed

Headphones have been an increasingly growing market. It makes sense that a high-end headphone would be offered at a high-end price. Andrew Robinson investigates to find out if the Audeze LCD3 is such a headphone.

The LCD3's build quality, materials and comfort are second to none and among the best I've encountered, period ; Long-term listening isn't a chore, but rather an experience via the LCD3, which is more than I can say about other headphones, even...

The LCD3 isn't a set of headphones for on the go listening, as it most assuredly requires some form of amplification other than what is found in your smart phone or laptop. Due to its need for additional equipment, the LCD3's true cost of ownership...

$2,000 is a lot of money for anything, let alone a pair of headphones. It's an even crazier amount, considering it would be for a set of headphones that I wouldn't necessarily listen to all the time. And yet, I want the LCD3. I want it if for no other...

Audeze LCD-3 and Audeze LCD-X Review: The Champion Sound

Flawless, open, natural sound Revealing and calculated sonic performance The best mid-range we've ever heard Classy retro looks, excellent build LCD-X can be driven by portable devices

Heavy and uncomfortable to wear over time LCD-3 needs an amplifier

Experts around the world have referred to the Audeze LCD series as the 'best headphones in the world', and we have to agree. Built beautifully, uncompromising in sound quality and an absolute pleasure to listen to, the Audeze LCD-3 and LCD-X are the...

The untamable Stallion of Headphones

The LCD-2 pre-fazor was my first Hifi headphone, and so in that way Audeze holds a special place in my heart. Back then, I had them with a Norne Draug2 cable hooked into a Schiit Valhalla, which was directly plugged into my computer with no DAC. Not...

Provocative low-mid/bass, good EQ does wonders, classic design, great customer support.

Untamable bass, heavy, poorly designed headband, aftermarket cable required.

A Top Notch Headphone with Outstanding Looks and Sound

Time for one more review–this one I've been thinking about for a while. I've been trying to think of how I can describe the LCD-3's in depth without just saying they sound AWESOME. Well, I think I'm finally ready to give some in-depth analysis. Design...

Incredibly wide and open soundstage, Fantastic balance of sounds, relatively forgiving to bad recordings

A bit heavy and fatiguing (due to physical heft) over long periods of time
