The AKGs are built to last and sound insightful enough, but they're lacking in refinement

Sturdy build ; Attractive styling ; Good detail across the board

Unwelcome hardness to the sound ; Short on body and refinement ; No protective case

We love the compact nature of these new AKGs and their stylish, solid build will go a long way to convincing potential owners as will their detailed and punchy sound.

The AKG K545 is a headphone pair for lovers of balanced, crisp audio, with plenty of bass that doesn't get insanely boosted.

Powerful audio performance with natural bass and crisp highs. Comfortable fit and visually pleasing design. Includes removable cables with both iOS and Android-compatible in-line remotes.

Not for seekers of booming low-end. Light on accessories besides the cables.

Great sound, but fragile construction?

 

The headphones arrived and looked great, however on further inspection the earpiece on one side was moving on it's axis a little "too" freely. Not sure if the hinge was broken in transit or a manufacturing fault, which is a shame as the headphones...
