TomTom GO LIVE 1000

The sat nav market is becoming a very crowded place, and the quality of hardware has rocketed in the last year.

Great LIVE services ; Great touchscreen ; Decent value

Sticky menu system ; Bulky unit

A good sat nav with great extra services that really make a positive difference to your driving, but this wasn't quite the all-rounder we were hoping for. The wrong directions were disappointing, and the menu system too confusing for this to be an...

Is TomTom's new high-end sat nav good enough to lead the line?

Great LIVE services ; Great touchscreen ; Decent value

Sticky menu system ; Bulky unit

TomTom Go 1000 Live review

Whilst it is impossible to ignore convergence and the growing popularity of satnav functions on your smartmobile, for many there is still a place for a dedicated satnav device. TomTom is hoping that continued innovation will keep pushing sales of their...

Nicely redesigned interface, easy to navigate, some customisation options, Bluetooth, Google Local Search, HD Traffic, magnetic mount

Bluetooth phone memory function didn't import all contacts, price, some occasional lags in navigation (might get fixed prior to release)

A welcomed refresh to a system we already liked, but as a headline device, the TomTom Go 1000 Live is packed full of features that some might never use, at a price some might not want to pay. There is no question, however, that it is an excellent...

TomTom Go Live 1000 - First Look

A new direction for TomTom?

New interface, the promise of apps in the future, new slim hardware, virtually every feature you can think of that you would need

What TomTom is creating here is a new beginning, taking an already popular and successful format (they've sold over 45 million devices so far) and moving it to the next level. With the webkit platform as a base, TomTom will be able to create something...

TomTom Go Live 1000 review

The TomTom Go Live 1000 is probably the best sat-nav on the market. It's fast, accurate and will do a better job than most other sat-navs of keeping your maps up-to-date.

Fast, accurate navigation ; Advanced traffic-avoidance system ; Integrated Google search

Rubbish voice-recognition system ; Live services are only free for a year

The TomTom Go Live 1000 is probably the best sat-nav we've ever used. It's fast, accurate and has a wealth of extra features, although some are more useful than others.

TomTom GO Live 1000 review

TomTom is well known for the simplicity of its GPS devices, and the GO 1000 continues this tradition. It features just a single power button in the top-left corner as the only physical control; this doubles as an indicator light when the unit is...

The TomTom GO Live 1000 is one of the best-equipped GPS navigation devices on the market, making it ideal for those who use a sat nav every day. Less frequent users will get better value out of cheaper units, but the GO 1000 is slick, functional and...

TomTom Go 1000 Live review

It's been a while since we saw a fresh design from TomTom, with the Go x30, x40 and x50 series all sharing essentially the same case. The new Go 1000 Live may not look hugely different, but there are quite a few changes and improvements.

It isn't cheap, but this is a superb navigator that will get you to your destination as fast as possible.

TomTom GO 1000 LIVE

TomTom raises the bar once more on sat-nav technology

Improved menu system ; Fast route calculation ; Live traffic ; updates

Expensive ; Live traffic incurs an ongoing cost

As with its TomTom LIVE predecessors, the GO 1000 is not a cheap sat-nav and despite its abilities, if you're only an occasional traveller it will be overkill. For those in this category, a more modest option would make better economic sense. But for...

TomTom Go Live 1000

Pared down and powered up, TomTom's latest Go Live 1000 shuns the often frivolous features of other sat-navs and concentrates on navigation essentials.

Brian Blessed is the latest to add his immortal tones to the TomTom catalogue, so don't be too surprised if you find yourself ordered to dive while flying blind on a rocket cycle next time you're en route to Basingstoke.

Review: TomTom GO LIVE 1000 £199

Turn10 studios really laid down the gauntlet with Forza Motorsport 3, a deep, accomplished racer that was as realistic as it was fun. Can this year's sequel, Forza Motorsport 4 go one better and overtake Gran Turismo 5 to take pole position? Read on to...

While not every addition in Forza Motorpsort 4 is a must have one, none of them are awful, nor detract from the absolutely stunning race action on offer here. You could argue that more brand new content could have been thrown in to appeal to returning...
