Do you need the Rolls-Royce of satnav?
All in all, this is TomTom doing what it does best. As a navigation solution, we think this is the best around, but this could be said of the offerings much further down the range, with a great range of options to ensure your journey goes as smoothly...

But do all the extra features make it a worthwhile purchase and justify that premium price?

TomTom's 930T is a brilliant device
Large widescreen display ; 4GB of onboard memory ; improved user interface ; IQ Routes works well ; Advance Lane Guidance too
Day / night sensor doesn't work ; ambiguous voice commands ; speaker quality could be better
However these are minor niggles. The GO 930 T is easily one of the most accomplished satnavs TomTom has made and with genuinely useful features like IQ Routes, it's proved it can still innovate and stay ahead of the pack.

Top-of-the-range navigation

Will improvements to Tomtom's range change the way you navigate?
Pros: Fantastic performance on the road; wide range of extras; extremely customisable Cons: Expensive; improvements don't add a great deal Overall: The best performing navigator money can buy, but it's expensive and we weren't totally impressed with...

TomTom has dominated the in-car sat-nav sector for some time and it's hoping to maintain that position with its latest Go 930 Traffic.
So are the additions worth the extra cash? For now, I'd have to say - surprisingly - no. The new x30 range undoubtedly maintains the 720's position as king of in-car sat-navs, with its improved route-finding abilities and lane assistance. But the...

The TomTom 930 T, is slimmer than the round-backed devices of yesteryear, solid and well built. As portable satnav units go, the TomTom looks positively super.
For all these niggles - and the odd glaring error - the TomTom 930 T is a quality piece of kit and one we would happily use again. It successfully got us to our destination despite some very obscure locations being entered and it's generally a classy...
In some residential areas there's a low-level 3D representation of the Victorian terraces and higgledy-piggledy streets you're passing and we also found the go, go green arrows delineating the lane to be at every point a helpful aid.

The TomTom GO 930 Traffic sat-nav is a speedy update to January's 920T. While the two are cosmetically nearly identical, the 930 Traffic has beefed up with some new features, including the much-hyped IQ Routes technology and advanced lane guidance to...

Pricey ; FM/RDS-TMC receiver ; car cradle ; map detail
With the wrapping still clinging to the underside of the GO 920T, some may feel slightly peeved by the 930 Traffic's arrival. But with the sat-nav world changing rapidly each day, the features are a more natural progression, rather than a stab in the...

On the face of it this is just another of the huge range of devices to tell your where you are and how to get to where you are not. However after a few days of use I soon realised it did lots of things that other such devices do not.
The TomTom GO930-T is 11.5x8.5x2cm and has a landscape screen 10.7x5.8cm. While most will of course use it in a car I suggest unless you are a passenger then you first try it on a bus or a train where or course you are a passenger as there is so much...
