One of the best gaming consoles, full stop.

The original Xbox is considered by many as one of the best gaming consoles of all time. The Xbox provided many entertaining and fun games, many of which, nowadays, can only be purchased as a second hand copy, either at a gaming store, or online. The...

Entertaining, fun games, even though they are considered "outdated". Graphics are good. Can play DVD's, can store and play Audio Tracks. There is an internal hard drive, so no need for stupid memory cards. Allows four controllers. Very cheap now....

Original Xbox Live is discontinued, console is considered by some as "heavy", quite pricy at time of release (but worth every dollar paid), cannot purchase brand new console parts and console games anymore as the console is considered outdated.

A console that I'll keep for many years to come...

My original and dearly valued Xbox that came in a limited edition Brute pack. I've had no issues with it at all and have managed to play hundreds of Halo 1 and Halo 2 games on it and still manage to have a toggle every now and again and delve into the...

All black, simple and rugged design with only two cords to plug into the TV - 1 to 4 players ability and online (now discontinued on this console)

Doesnt hold an internal battery with the time - so you have to set the time every time you turn off the console...

Excellent

The original home of Halo - the not-quite-yet vintage games available on this console are in high quantity and quality. It's relatively cheap and in it's time, the ultimate console to own. The design flaws have been fixed in the latest version - XBOX...

Great vintage console, stands up to most consoles today. A great step before buying an XBOX 360. There are still a lot of great games available to play. Controllers are easy to use.

Better consoles on the market now. A little out-dated so it makes it hard to find. If parts break and need repair or replacing, it will be hard to find someone to do it.

Good

Great console, solid controller, better in all specifications and cheaper second hand than the competitor the Sony PlayStation 2. I noticed these going on average of $50 bundled with games second-hand of course.

Really solid console, massive range of games. All games are only available second-hand and should be found for under $10. It's great to saving money and is almost just as great as it's predecessor the Xbox 360.

You had to play for online play, but online play was something more revolutionary. Now I would have expected them to keep it up and begin un-regulating it to save costs and offer the service for free since it costs very little to keep running. FREE for...

Good

We own one of these consols and find that it is quite good. Four hand controls can be attached and the cords are quite long. Games are really cheap especially as this consol is getting a bit older. Apart from the tray sticking we have had no other...

Lots of storage space on the hard drive ours has 50G. Is good because you can save to the hard drive at any stage instead of saving to memory sticks etc.

We have had trouble with the CD tray sticking and we have to give the top of the consol a little tap so that it will open.

Good

This is a tough console, we have had ours for a number of years now and haven't had a problem with it's quality. The amount of games you can choose from to play on it are endless, and you can pick one up nowadays for a very reasonable price.

The pros for the XBOX include the fact that it can be used for playing dvds aswell as games, the console itself looks quite impressive, and that you can have more than two players for some games.

The only con i have for the XBOX is that it's size is quite large and takes up alot of space in our lounge.

Good

This console was fantastic and deserved every sale it got, this console forced better things out of other console makers with their fierce competition, it was this competition and quick release of games that made it dominate the Nintendo game-cube

This console made an engineering revolution with it's quick loading times and large array of games including 2 Halo games and 2 star wars battlefront games that sold over 1 000 each. The burnout racing games were also high sellers, for it's time this...

This console's controllers were flimsy and broke too easily. The discs often didn't work and couldn't be read by the Xbox for up to 10 minutes and then would just "magically" work.

OK

The XBOX is a great console, the first of many, this console is great to play with your friends (up to 4 players on one console or up to 16 on XBOX live) or great to play alone, with its great graphics, although it doesn't quite measure up to today's...

The XBOX is a great device and I spent hundreds of hours of my life on this console, playing games like halo and the early Call of Duty games, before I upgraded to the XBOX 360 elite. the graphics on this console are amazing (they demolish those of the...

The Controllers have annoying cables, which tangle as someone walks past the television, unlike the new wireless controllers for the Xbox 360.

Excellent

This is the groundbreaking console for 4 play on a single console. It provided me with thousands of hours of entertainement. Playing Halo on this was many peoples favourite past time, including mine. Amazing console.

Was the best 4 player console of it's time. It was also the only game console that could play the best selling game Halo. The graphics were great on this console. Great party console. Controllers were very sturdy.

The controllers are a bit bulky. It is rare, but the disc tray can get jammed and must be either pried open or taken to a repair shop.
