The GoPro-powered drone you've been waiting for

Portable, fold-up design ; Total stabilization package ; Tight controls

Lacks collision detection ; Not-so-autonomous auto flight modes ; Short battery life

The GoPro Karma is so much more than a drone, giving you video stabilization in the air and on the ground. However, there are better quads floating around with longer battery life and smarter brains.

Updated 28/9/17: GoPro's drone didn't quite hit the heights of its rivals, but an update should give it a lift...

A complete package in a slim backpack ; Handy Karma Grip accessory ; Simple flight controls ; Good build quality

GoPro Karma review: Solid approach with some downfalls

Captures fantastic video and photos but this drone provides an average flying experience

Fantastic video quality ; Backpack and Karma grip included

Lacks advanced sensors ; No object avoidance or tracking ; Not as compact as DJI Mavic Pro

And so, although it isn’t quite as flexible, given the choice I’d still opt for the Mavic Pro. It currently costs £200 less at £1,099, and is absolutely stuffed with the best and latest drone tech.

Plenty of value here, but the GoPro Karma isn't the most sophisticated flying machine
