Sony's RDR-HX725 is a decent recorder held back by a slighted specification. Not having an integrated digital tuner is restrictive and you can expect HDMI connectivity at this price. But it's well constructed, incredibly easy to use and performs capably

mine stopped playing after about a year. what a load of shite. I specify thousands of pieces of equipment for the apartments i design and samsung are def off my list. good bye and good ridance samstung
when i record some programs on my samsung dvd- hr 735 recorder on dvd, it is not possible to play it on computer but only on samsung recorder.What shall i do to ply recorded dvd s on PC ?
As with the other reviews, mine is 18 months old and get stuck on DVD load. It will sit there and spin for 10 minutes (not exaggerating) before it will give your disc back.
Price, looks
Menus are a bit clunky, tuner seems to need the TV on to "load" properly, otherwise I end up recording black screens audio only; DVDs no longer loading.
