Nikon D7000

Nikon's mid range, semi-pro digital SLR rival to the Canon EOS 60D takes its TrustedReviews test bow. Can handling and performance match its pre-release hype and £1,000 price?

The D7000 is a fantastic step up camera for those who have outgrown entry level digital SLRs or for those who want to upgrade from older mid-range models, with the advantage this time around of a bang up-to-date feature set for the Nikon range; the...

Nikon D7000 review

Is this Nikon D90 replacement camera worthy of the crown?

Good detail capture ; Easy to use ; Good features ; Great new AF system (with right lens)

LCD screen not articulated ; Needs faster lens to get the best shots ; NX2 software lacking in control

The 16.2-megapixel Nikon D7000 offers full Hd video capture and auto focusing

Feature-packed ; Robustly built ; Long battery life

Pricey ; Bulky ; LCD not angle adjustable

Nikon D7000

The Nikon D7000 is a new DSLR sandwiched between both the consumer and semi-pro categories. A lot is new: a brand new 16.2-megapixel sensor can capture stills and 1080p HD movies, while a new 39-point autofocus system and 2106 pixel RGB metering sensor...

Excellent 39-point AF system, very long battery life, superb picture quality and high ISO standard

Quite pricey, kit lens only reasonable, screen resolution not pushing the boundaries, internal buffer could be larger

The D7000 is fairly hard to find fault with. The new 39-point autofocus system is fantastic, highly customisable and delivers continuous shooting results at up to 6fps to almost the same standard you’d expect from a higher-classed DSLR.

The D7000 is a joy to use, and takes breathtaking photos and videos.

Nikon D7000 review

The Nikon D7000's automatic shooting modes mean first-time digital SLR users can get started immediately, but ideally you'll need to know a little about photography if you want to get the most out of it. We were very impressed by its overall...

The Nikon D7000 combines good usability and handling with excellent image quality in addition to a versatile ISO range. If you’re looking to buy a digital SLR but want a camera that’s more versatile than the current crop of entry-level offerings, we...

Nikon D7000 review

The D7000 is Nikon's latest mid-range digital SLR . Aimed at the photographer who's seeking a more affordable camera than Nikon's top-tier devices, the D7000 goes up against Canon's EOS 60D and EOS 7D . You can expect to pay around £1,200 for the D7000...

Robust build quality; quick and responsive; 1080p video recording; generally competent performer.

Heavy, with or without a lens attached; handgrip could be more comfortable; occasionally overexposed highlights.

Nikon's D7000 allies rugged build quality with all the bells and whistles expected of a mid-range digital SLR. All things considered, it's a thoroughly competent camera.

Nikon D7000

Nikon D7000 review

Nikon DSLR users have been waiting a long time for the D7000, not so much as an upgrade for the D90 but as a hint at exactly what Nikon is planning to do with its higher end DSLRs. From what I have seen in the D7000, they shouldn't be disappointed.The...

Nikon D7000 review

With the D7000, Nikon has created a new category in its broad DSLR line. The D7000 offers a midrange alternative to the higher-end Nikon D300s and the slightly long-in-the-tooth but more affordable Nikon D90, which the company released in 2008.

If you're ready to get serious about your photography, the Nikon D7000 is well equipped to help you transition to the next level. It has a sophisticated feature set, top notch performance and highly pleasing image quality. Expect a challenging learning...
