Leica's imaging device provides bright quality even at the edge of the image, something that's often an issue with film lenses used on digital sensor-based cameras. This is one of the few cameras that writes to Adobe's Digital Negative Format (DNG), ...

It combines a digital back with the company's R9 camera, and although the...

By Larry L Greenhill (photographyreview.com)Read the full review

A PROFESSIONAL'S 35MM WONDER CHOICE

Leica Digital-Module-R

By Nic Wertenbroek (photographyreview.com)Read the full review

R8 + DMR, 15mm Super Elmar - photography of interiors. Camera is very heavy with this lens, I use a tripod and shoot in RAW format. The flatscreen of my computer does not really show much difference between Nikon and Leica pictures. But when you make a pr...

Good design, can be used without reading the manual, sensor easy to clean. Colors perfect in RAW format. No "digital" feeling at all while working with it.

Heavy, JPG and TIFF give unpredictable results. Have to take your time (no autofocus) Battery runs out fast. High price.
