I was hesitant at first, wondering if I was spending too much money. Well, it turned out to be a fabulour camera. Pictures were detailed and accurate and the video is amazing. Pictures were better than the Nikon D90, though it is not a fair comparison....

Canon's update to the wildly popular full frame EOS 5D is here, and it's better than ever. The EOS 5D Mark II has a stunning 21.1-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor with DIGIC 4 image processor, a vast ISO range of 100-6400, plus EOS technologies like auto lighting optimizer and peripheral illumination correction. It supports Live View shooting, Live View HD videos, and more. It can shoot up to 3.9 fps, has 9 AF points plus 6 AF assist points, a 98% coverage viewfinder, a 3.0-inch Clear View...

The Canon EOS 5D Mark II takes Canon's ground-breaking, full-frame EOS 5D DSLR, boosts the megapixel rating to 21Mp, and adds HD video capture.
Like its predecessor, Canon's EOS 5D Mark II is a great camera that offers exceptional image quality and a great interface. We'd like to see a few additional features (better auto bracketing and an intervalometer, for starters) but these are quibbles....
Kudos to Canon for taking a great camera and finding ways to make it better.

The Canon EOS 5D Mark II is a great follow-up to the original 5D and a top-flight full-frame camera that delivers the fluid shooting experience and fine photos you'd expect from a professional model
Excellent performance and photo quality ; Good video-capture capabilities and quality
No built-in wireless controller ; Large spot meter ; No built-in flash ; More direct controls would be nice ; Autofocus system could use an update
For burst shooting, however, it's the slowest of all the new models, partly because of Nikon's significantly lower resolution and Sony's doubling up on the processors to maintain burst rates. Neither its 3.8fps burst-shooting speed (unlimited JPEG/14...
If your shooting style requires numerous AF points beyond the middle quarter of the frame, this probably isn't the camera for you. But, for centre focusers, it works quite well

Canon's update to the EOS 5D can shoot full 1080p HD video, but does it still have the snapping power to wow us?
Canon’s EOS 5D Mk II certainly isn't cheap, but for serious snappers it's the gold standard

The Canon EOS 5D Mark II is a worthy successor of the EOS 5D. The principle features remain the same: a full-frame sensor in a relatively compact body, but Canon has added extra professional features such as sealing against the ingress of dust and...
Despite the increased resolution of 21 million pixels, Canon has been able to reduce noise levels to below those of the 5D, which is a great achievement.

This camera captured our hearts with its suite of innovative features and we had no qualms about awarding it an Editors' Choice.
Full HD-video recording; impressive image quality even at high ISO; solid feel from camera body; clever technology used in battery
No HDMI cable supplied; zooming in on images in playback mode needs to be faster; position of power switch
The EOS 5D Mark II is a very good camera for enthusiasts who are looking for a full-frame option, and has all the bells and whistles which makes this shooter not only a decent still image shooter, but also an industry grade video camera, too, as long...

Canon pretty much always makes great cameras, but the Canon EOS 5D Mark II takes the rule book, rips it up, and spits out a new High-Definition standard for DSLRs to follow.
Superb 21MP images. ISO sensitivity of 25,600 means you can shoot even when the sun goes down
Heart attack-inducing price tag. Autofocus in movie mode isn't the best
The slick Canon EOS 5D Mark II accurate shots every time you click that shutter shut, shutterbug. Superb!
