Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T900 review

By Rod Lawton (cnet.co.uk)

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T900 isn't just a camera -- it's a thing of beauty in both a technical and a visual sense, although the square corners arguably detract from its aesthetic appeal ever so slightly. But what matters most is that it's much more...

Great movie quality ; Good stills quality ; Attractive styling and finish ; Responsive touchscreen controls

Sliding lens cover is tricky to open ; Pricey

Conclusion The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T900 is expensive, but you can see where the money's gone. It's a classy piece of kit that produces good-quality stills and great HD movies. The touchscreen interface works well and the LCD is excellent. If you've got...

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T900

By Cliff Smith (trustedreviews.com)

It's the most expensive consumer compact on the market, but is it worth the money?

There's no question that the Sony Cyber-shot T900 is a superb camera. It's very well made, looks good, and is easy to operate thanks to one of the few good touch-screen interfaces. It has a number of useful and entertaining features, outstandingly fast...

However it's not without some image quality issues, and it is ridiculously overpriced. It's good, it's just not that good.

Sony's latest T Series shoots 12.1MP stills and records HD movies. But is it too pricey for these cash-strapped times?

Compact, ultra-slim, and a style icon, the T900's also delivers reassuringly expensive-looking images

Review: Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T900

By Joshua Goldman (asia.cnet.com)

This slim, chic compact is a good performer but is let down slightly by its image quality.

Fast performance; excellent design, LCD; optical zoom works in movie mode

Short battery life; average image quality; touchscreen not suitable for everyone

Though some shutterbugs will be disappointed by its photo quality, the high-tech Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T900 is a very good ultracompact camera.

The Sony DSC-T900, or T900B if you are looking for it in Black, is very small and light yet still boasts a extra large 3.5 inch screen where you can view your images. There is no longer a need to have a camera that is large and heavy when instead you...

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T900

By (fwd.five.tv)

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T900 is a 12MP compact camera with 3.5-inch (921,600 dots) LCD touchscreen. A sliding lens cover reveals the 4x folding lens (35-140mm equivalent). HD Ready (720p) video, face detection, smile shutter and dynamic range...

Buttons are so 20th century. The iPhone generation will appreciate the T900’s metallic minimalism: only zoom, shutter, movie and playback controls interrupt its endless, shiny curves. But move over Apple. This Cyber-shot’s 3.5-inch touchscreen has six...

When a lens cover turns from a handy way to protect optics into a lumbering sheet of metal that takes two hands to open, it’s clear that design has trumped practicality. Although at least your camera will be able to survive a direct hit from an Exocet...

Sony has its style-cam range down to a T. This flagship super-snapper delivers everything the designer ordered: slick 12MP photos, sharp HD movies, finger-friendly functionality and the best screen on the market.

It measures 98x58x16mm and weighs 147g.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T900 review

By Joe Minihane (electricpig.co.uk)

When a gadget's namesake is a Terminator, you know you need to sit up and take notice. And not just for your own personal safety. The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T900 should be welcomed into your life, unlike Arnie and his futuristic cohorts. But enough with...

Touchscreen, style, great auto modes

Annoying lens shutter, price

Sony DSC T900

By (cameras.co.uk)

This camera has a number of attractive features such as the touch controlled LCD screen and High Definition movies. It is also a very stylish camera. It is quick to capture a shot and its small size means you can take it anywhere.

Ease of use - touch screen - design and size - High Definition movies with stereo sound and zoom - low shutter lag times - build quality

Very small internal memory

There is a lot to like about the Sony Cybershot DSC T900. It scores highly for ease of use and build quality as well as more innovative and advanced features. Picture quality is good for snapshot sized prints.

Sony DSC-T900

By Renaud Labracherie (digitalversus.com)

The 3'' LCD screen on the back of the T900 is crying out to be touched and we couldn't wait to switch it on and play. Unfortunately, though, the screen is as disappointing as it is big, and is marred by a low resolution and an image lacking in detail....

Stylish and well-built ; Great image quality up to 200 ISO ; Powerful optical image stabilisation ; Video mode up to 1080p, or 720p with stereo sound ; Large 3'' screen had 920 000 pixel resolution in playback mode

No 28 mm wide angle ; Screen disappointing for focusing ; Menu interface is too complicated ; Only supports Memory Stick ; Proprietary USB Connection

With a very tempting design, the Sony T900 is a responsive camera with a great combination of HD video and stereo sound. The lack of a wide-angle lens and a rather 'tough' sensor noise handling system both hold this sexy little compact back.

To really enjoy the 920 000 pixel VGA resolution, you need to switch to playback mode, where you can look back over your photos with plenty of detail.

Sony T900

By Matt Golowczynski (whatdigitalcamera.com)

The Sony T900 boasts a 12MP sensor, HD video recording and a range of impressive features. But with the lifestyle compact market already fairly saturated, does it bring anything new to the table? The What Digital Camera Sony T900 review investigates...

HD video recording, style, effective face detection

Noise, no connective ports on body, price

There's no doubting that 300 can get you a camera with better image quality than the T900, but then this isn't a camera the enthusiast is realistically going to consider. Having said this, I can think of far worse cameras under the 'lifestyle'...

What it lacks in image quality it makes up in useful features and a great user experience.
