Many features, Great vintage design, Good lens, Excellent macro, Nice colour rendition
Joystick isn't very responsive, Flimsy battery door, Noise could be better

lens,
limited zoom
The TZ3 did not zoom whilst making movies but the AF stayed fixed. The TZ5 allowed zooming but the AF is active and hunts. What does the LX3 do?
Lens cap is good news. I have had 6 TZ3/TZ5s and those automatic lens shutter things broke on 3 of them. Very fragile construction.
Aspect ratio switch on lens barrel is daft. How often do you change that? Rather use the precious real estate for something you change regularly. And is it 24mm at 16:9 or at 3:2 as well? Look at the sample photos: 16:9 gets more width into the picture.
