Olympus OM-Zuiko 35-105mm f3.5-4.5

I purchased this lens over a decade ago - long before I switched to digital photography and back to film again. I use it on my OM-1n and OM-2S. It is a phenomenal lens and is the one usually mounted on the camera I am using. Bright and easy to focus,...

Compact, extremely well built, excellent optical qualities

Olympus OM-Zuiko 35-105mm f3.5-4.5

Versatile lens with superb optical quality. I have tested this Zuiko, Tokina SZ-X 28-105/3.5-4.8 and Canon EF 28-105/3.5-4.5 on a digital Canon EOS body. The Zuiko was the best of the 3 in sharpness and contrast. I use it as a primary lens on OM-4Ti.

Very sharp and contrasty - perfect for slides ; Good macro - better than most Zuiko primes (except dedicated macro lenses) ; Precisely built - the zoom doesn't change position even when held vertically (unlike the Tokina which is a 2-touch zoom!)

Wide end is only 35. I'd prefer to have 28 at the wide end, but that's just my preference

Olympus OM-Zuiko 35-105mm f3.5-4.5

I bought my first 35-105 ten years ago and made the mistake of selling it. I happily bought a new one this year on Ebay. It's well worth $200. You won't find a more versatile zoom lens from generic makers or even from Nikon! You can't go wron with this...

Super sharp, sturdy and push-type mechanism. I hate twist zooms! More coverage than the 35-70's. Excellent macro. Great travel, glamour, and studio lens.

Olympus OM-Zuiko 35-105mm f3.5-4.5

I used the Sigma II 35-105mm for six years and was never totally satisfied with it's performance. I switched to the Zuiko 35-70mm f/4 and did not like the absence of a depth of field scale. I have found the 35-105mm Zuiko outstanding for all phases of...

Excellent lens overall. Extremely sharp with excellent contrast through it's zoom range and all f-stops. The macro function is also excellent.

Olympus OM-Zuiko 35-105mm f3.5-4.5

I was told this lens is made by Tokina which may account for the lesser build quality than the zuiko line. I'm afraid I found the lens very dissapointing.

Focal length is convenient. Light weight.

Very soft and unsharp for anything over 4x6. Color contrast is not as good as the better zooms.

Olympus OM-Zuiko 35-105mm f3.5-4.5

This lens is terrific. It's surprising really -- with modern top-of-the line pro zooms, you expect good performance, but most people look askance at older zooms. yet this one yields really good photos -- sharp, contrasty, lovely. I'm surprised at how...

good range ; nice close-up ability ; compact (like all Zuikos, really)

I can't help but think that it would have been nicer if it were a bit faster and a constant aperture

For most of my landscape and general photography, this is the lens of choice for me.

A wonderful, all around lens producing sharp, contrasty results. Ability to get macro results from a distance.
