Sony Alpha A77 II

The long-awaited A77 II iadds solid improvements all round, including superb AF

Fantastic AF with superior tracking ; Excellent LCD ; Solid build quality ; Excellent overall image quality

Menus take some getting used to ; GPS tagging has been removed ; Some issues at high ISO

Some may bemoan the aforementioned loss of GPS tagging, but it’s really not inconceivable that Sony could release a dedicated image geotagging app that works with the GPS of the smart device with which the camera is paired.

Sony Alpha 77 II

The Sony Alpha 77 II has one of the quickest autofocus systems we've seen on an SLR and can shoot at 12fps, making it our Editors' Choice.

Excellent high ISO image quality. 12fps continuous shooting. Fast, 79-point autofocus system. In-body stabilization. Sharp OLED EVF. Excellent control layout. Sharp, articulated rear LCD. Seamless Live View experience. Built-in Wi-Fi. PC sync flash...

A little slow to start and shoot. Single memory card slot. No built-in GPS. Some photographers prefer an optical viewfinder.
