Samsung NX1000

We go hands-on with Samsung's all-new entry-level CSC.

Small and lightweight ; Excellent Wi-Fi functionality ; Same proven 20.3MP APS-C sensor as NX200 ; Looks pretty stylish in white

Launch price needs to drop a bit

The NX1000 is the new entry-level model within Samsung’s NX range of compact system cameras. Despite its entry-level tag it still packs a 20.3MP APS-C sized sensor that has already proven itself capable of taking great images in another Samsung camera...

Samsung NX1000 review

Samsung's lightweight baby of the NX lineup

Great editing options ; Range of creative filters ; Low noise at high ISOs ; Good video options

Lag between shots ; Colour in scene modes can be too intense

Samsung NX1000

Delve into Samsung's website and it now terms all of its cameras as "SMART cameras" with Wi-Fi as standard. Samsung is one of the few manufacturers trying to push forward connectivity in the camera market. Samsung's been a bit of a slow burner in the...

Great image quality for such high resolution, enough lenses to compete against the competition, good value without scrimping on the features

No viewfinder possible, inconsistent white balance, colours can lack punch, burst mode processing "lock out", poor battery life

Samsung’s been a bit of a slow burner in the compact system camera market, but that’s not on account of its quality.

Samsung NX1000 review

Rival Sony has arguably hit an image quality/size ratio peak already with its slightly chunkier NEX-7, also featuring a same format, same resolution chip. But at half the price, Samsung's NX1000 could be considered a remarkably effective budget...

Offering a blend of manual control and point and shoot operation, the NX1000 is very usable, no matter your skill set. And when punchy, bright, detail-packed images are the result we have a very capable, portable contender for those prepared to look...

Samsung NX1000

This camera has a removable lens, mine came with a 20-50mm offering that is fine for a lot of normal images. However its small size could possibly have it confused with a basic digital camera, this it certainly is not.

The Samsung NX1000 kit with 20-50mm lens is available from link below for £297.48 including delivery.

Samsung NX1000 review

New wireless Compact System Camera with DSLR-sized 20MP sensor

Larger than average format sensor offering near DSLR quality but maintaining compact camera dimensions, easy to achieve good quality results, fair value, Wi-Fi adds a degree of future proofing, iFunction lens does more than just zoom or focus

Lightweight body feels a tad insubstantial, and no built-in anti shake measures (via optional stabilised lens only)

Offering a blend of manual control and point and shoot operation, the NX1000 is very usable, no matter your skill set. And when punchy, bright, detail-packed images are the result we have a very capable, portable contender for those prepared to look...
