Panasonic G7 review

New 4K Photo modes make it easy to shoot 8MP images at 30 frames per second

OLED viewfinder ; Vari-angle touch-screen ; Integration of 4K Photo shooting

Two-year-old sensor ; Lightweight build ; Micro Four Thirds type sensor is smaller than APS-C

Replacing the Panasonic G6, the G7 sits beneath the Panasonic GH4 in the company's line-up of compact system cameras. It's the smaller of the two SLR-like models, and is aimed at enthusiast photographers. It sits alongside the rectangular Panasonic...

Panasonic Lumix G7 review: GH4 junior shows off 4K smarts - Pocket-lint

Affordable, fully featured screen and viewfinder, impressive 4K capture, decent image quality (4K Photo has its uses too), pinpoint autofocus mode, extensive and customisable controls, silent electronic shutter option

Boxy and plasticky build, larger than G6 predecessor, occasional autofocus slip-ups, single SD card (slot in battery compartment), no 4K Cinema mode, 4K Photo pre-burst focus issues, battery life could be better

So there we have it, the GH4 junior. No, we mean Lumix G7. Just like the top-end model, the G7 offers great image quality, excellent 4K video capture, super-fast autofocus, and even the 4K Photo option has its uses.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7 review

A 4K camera for less than you'd expect

An affordable way to record 4K ; Fast autofocus ; Strong low light performance

Plasticky body ; 4K doesn’t always look wonderful

A versatile, user-friendly little lens-swapper that’d make the ideal first system camera

Panasonic G7 review

With sophisticated autofocus, superb controls and 4K video capture, the Panasonic G7 packs a serious punch.

The G7 has two superb cameras to compete with. The Canon EOS 750D is a true SLR that doesn't put a foot wrong and beats the G7 for image quality. The G7 is faster in continuous mode, though, its viewfinder is larger and it has more plentiful physical...

Panasonic Lumix G7

The Panasonic Lumix G7 takes the classic G-series mid-range accessibility and bolts-on some of the higher-grade video skills of the Panasonic GH4. That camera brought 4K video shooting to thousands, this one lowers the entry price a bit.

Plenty of control ; 4K video ; Great EVF

Plastic build ; APS-C rivals offer better dynamic range
