Fujifilm X-E2S

Right now, Fujifilm appears to be focusing on just three lines for its compact system camera offering. The X-E2S is in the same vein as the XPro2, but without such a hefty price tag.

Fuji X-E2S review

With a revamped AF system, an electronic shutter and other changes, Fuji builds on the X-E2 to make it a better enthusiast's shooter

Very good image quality ; Very good EVF ; Great noise control

Shot-to-shot times could be better ; Needs a tilting/adjustable LCD ; Some rivals offer 4K video

While it doesn't offer some of the features of its competitors, the X-E2S is well designed and a pleasure to use. It's also sensibly priced and produces high quality images.

Fujifilm X-E2S review - Great photos but can it beat the X-T10?

With outstanding image quality and controls, the Fujifilm X-E2S's biggest competition comes from its own ranks.

I love the photos that come out of the X-E2S, and I’m just as fond of the exposure controls. Video quality and subject tracking are both a bit iffy; if these features are important, go for the Sony a6000 or Panasonic G7 . I suspect most people won’t be...

Fujifilm X-E2S review

  (Rating Hidden)

A minor update to the X-E2, the Fujifilm X-E2S is an affordable camera for the enthusiast, with a new autofocus (AF) system and electronic shutter. It produces fantastic quality shots in low light, but how does it fare in other situations? We tested...

Fujifilm X-E2s Review

We review the new X-E2s, the update to the X-E2, with a 16 megapixel sensor and updated design.

Excellent colour reproduction ; Very good noise performance ; In-camera raw conversion ; Improved front grip ; Improved focus system ; Classic camera styling and controls ; Brighter than normal 18-55mm kit lens ; Manual controls and metal dials ; Film...

Not much reason for X-E2 owners to upgrade ; Doesn't feature a tilting screen, or a touch-screen ; Easy to knock the exposure compensation dial ; ISO200-6400 limit for RAW shooting

Now that the competition is offering 20-24mp rangefinder style cameras, in the form of the Sony Alpha A6300, Panasonic Lumix GX8, and Olympus PEN-F, the Fujifilm X-E2s is in the strange position of offering a lower resolution 16mp sensor. There's also...

Still solid: Fujifilm X-E2S Review

Except for a few tweaks, the Fujifilm X-E2S is a fresh-from-the-factory update of the X-E2 with current firmware but at a much lower MSRP. Given that the X-E2 is approaching three years old, how does the X-E2S measure up in today's market? Read more

With the X-E2S, Fujifilm is clearly convinced that there's some life left in its now-midrange-priced retro-styled shooter. Overall, so are we. The X-E2S is an engaging camera to use and is capable of excellent results, both in JPEG and Raw. But the...

Fujifilm X-E2S

The Fujifilm X-E2S is an interesting camera, in that it offers a retro design with plenty of buttons and dials, while maintaining advanced features. It's also a relatively thin model for an advanced camera, as it has a mirrorless design, allowing it to...

Very good image quality versus similarly priced peers ; Noise is not noticeable up to ISO 6400, resulting in good low light image quality ; Can shoot in RAW or JPEG image format (or both) ; Fast autofocus system ; Well constructed build for a...

Not enough differences/upgrades from previous X-E2 model (when it has the firmware update) ; No touch screen makes Q menu feature a little less useful ; LCD screen does not tilt ; Lack of mode dial can make X-E2S confusing to use initially ; LCD's...

Hands-On: Fujifilm XQ1, X-E2 Review

Fujifilm announced its point-and-shoot XQ1 and its mid-tier X-E2 earlier this month as two products that help expand its popular X Series. This past week, Fujifilm attended PhotoPlus in New York City, and lucky for us, they brought bot the XQ1 […]

Fujifilm will release both the XQ1 and X-E2 next month, and both are priced accordingly to the kind of consumer they’re being geared towards to. The Fujifilm will retail for $500, while the X-E2 will be available for $1000 for its body-only version,...
