IntelliStation Z Pro

The last IBM workstation we looked at was rather behind the times - but this is right up-to-date. Dealer Matek's entry into our last workstation group test was a generation behind much of the competition, but this is the first computer we've seen to...

Obscenely powerful 3D performance. Fast image rendering and processing.

High price. Small, single hard drive. No DVD reader.

This Z Pro is driven by the fastest Xeon processors available: two 3.6GHz chips with 2MB of Level 2 cache each. These are fed by 2GB of DDR2 RAM across an 800MHz system bus, and connected to a motherboard with an almost full set of PCI-Express, PCI-X,...

Athlon II X3 435 - AM3 CPU Review

Recently, AMD launched the new Athlon II X3 435 CPU, a triple core CPU codenamed RANA.  PCWizKid has the opportunity to test ride the CPU compared to its earlier released Athlon II X2 and x4 editions tested.  Previously when we reviewed the X2 model it...

PCWizKid was interested in seeing how well the standard 95W CPU triple core would result, and as expected it lied exactly in between a Ahlon II X2 and a X4.  To no surprise power consumption was low and temperature readings as seen in the video review...

Awesome!

Bought this along with a motherboard and some ram (qf: 246637 & 247672 respectively) to get away from an old pentium 4 rig I was using for 3D work lol. This turned out to be so unexpectedly good I ended up trading my gaming rig for my work rig and...

AMD Athlon II X3 450

Running nice and cool at 3.4 GHz on stock cooler. It's quick and it's cheap. What more can we ask ?

Very good processor.

Running OpenBSD 4.8 and fluxbox with firefox and other applications. System is very very fast indeed. Great value. Fan is not noisy. Tried with Windows 7 64bit as well and multitasks very well. Games on steam are good. Motherboard was 880GMA-UD2H.

One of the last multi-core AM3 CPUs

Improved Window Experience Index to 7.2 in Windows 8. If you have an older motherboard, which is most likely the case, make sure you update the BIOS.
