Acer Revo 100 review

With so many set-top boxes vying for your attention you have to ask what's wrong with just setting up a PC under your TV? Think about it for a moment, you get full Windows 7 power, no web limitations or codec problems, and no restrictions as to what...

Slim, quiet, easy to use, comes with keypad/trackpad controller, Blu-ray support

No online store, Clear.fi interface is basic, specialised config means you pay a premium

The Acer Revo 100 looks good, solves the problem of a boring keyboard and mouse in your living room

Half the price and it'll compete with PS3. As it is, it's an expensive Blu-ray player

Quiet and slim ; Cutting-edge Blu-ray capabilities

Out-priced by almost everything ; Weak 3D and CPU

But at £500, why not simply choose a PS3 if you just want a Blu-ray player, or otherwise buy a cheap dual-core laptop and get something that's more flexible and just as able?

Acer Revo RL100

The Acer Revo RL100 is a sleek media-centre with Blu-ray playback and a comprehensive backlit keyboard remote control.

The Acer Revo RL100 is a quiet and highly attractive media-centre PC that will fit nicely into any living room. However, it does lack a little power, particularly when it comes to games, and its price tag is high. Even given the 3D facilities, this...

Despite its seemingly impressive spec, the Revo 100 doesn't do HD audio and 3D is incompatible with current TVs

Compact ; ingenious touchpad controller ; intuitive software ; good pictures and sound

Doesn’t do HD audio as standard ; 3D seemingly incompatible with current TVs

Acer Revo RL100-UR20P review

If you're looking for a sexy home theater PC that's good at doing one thing and one thing only, playing video of all kinds, look no further than the Acer Aspire Revo RL100-UR20P. This is definitely one of the coolest home theatre PCs we've seen: not...

If you're looking for the perfect home theatre PC, this is it. But anyone looking for a number cruncher or a gaming station should probably look elsewhere.

Acer Revo RL100 Multimedia PC Review

Acer - Revo 100

If you want to watch Blu-ray movies and record Freeview on your sitting room TV, there are basically two options: a combined PVR/Blu-ray player, or a media PC. Acer reckons you'd be better off taking the ...

Why would you pay £500 for this media PC, rather than £300 for a combined PVR and Blu-ray player? It's slimmer, sleeker and includes a full 64-bit version of Windows 7 Home Premium. If you fancy accessing the Internet using your telly, as well as some...

Acer Revo RL100 media centre

Review It's been a long time since PC makers started trying to get PCs into people's living rooms. Originally it was all about games, but consoles soon became a cheaper and better-supported option. Now, it's about TV and disc playing, in particular 3D,...

Do you pay £600 for a Windows 7 based media PC with Blu-ray, Freeview, PVR, 3D and wireless for Internet, or £350 for a standalone player with Blu-ray, Freeview, PVR and wireless for Internet. The decision to buy a Revo 100 comes down to whether you...
