The GF uses it for finding things at night.. it has a pretty bright white light.

You like phones that get really warped and fuzzy when you get to close to a refrigerator.. a microwave... a radio.. and many many more things with metal in them ; This is the phone for you then

Sturdy, well built, large display

Best cordless phone since switching to DSL. Using VOIP and a Vonage VTA-VR modem, clean and clear. Spoke with my Mom last night (200 MI away). She sounded like in the next room

General improvements over older models

 

I don't have great loyalty to a brand, but when it comes to cordless phones, I'm a strong believer in the quality from Panasonic. This is my third Panasonic cordless phone, and they just keep getting better. Note that this unit works with voicemail...

Improvements since my last model: phonebook is shared among handsets including ring tones (no more copying!); much bigger fonts on the display; can override the CID timestamp (my provider is in another timezone); uses standard AAA size rechargeables...

The caller ID history is two button presses away, whereas it used to be just 1. I preferred the d-pad instead of the rocker button
