Olympia DUALphone

A stylish cordless phone that can handle Skype as well as conventional landline applications.

Dual network capability ; Excellent audio quality ; Cordless

Windows XP/2000 only ; No contact status indicator ; Cheaper alternatives

Of course it is possible to buy Skype-capable handsets and a separate cordless phone for a lot less, but it's the ease of use and flexibility that the DUALphone provides that make it such a winner. If you're serious about using Skype on a daily basis,...

Worked ok for almost 3 years

Excellent idea Skype and landline together and wireless

I did not find the audio quality good at all, like talking through a tin can. After almost 3 years of not very frequent usage the microphone does suddenly not work and that I believe is low quality for a product that cost me 110 Euros (May 2005)

I bought two Dual phones to use Skype.

Friendly helpful service from the national importer - but it still didn't help get the phones working

Unreliable. Replacement batteries unavailable

Very concerned that there are no Mac drivers for this phone. Makes my purchase a waste of my hard earned cash. Does anyone know of any other drivers that will; work with the Dualphone and a Mac?

Great idea, but could have been so much better on engeneering, linux/mac compatibility and software improvement.

Works in Windows

No Linux-driver! ugh ; Bubbly' feel in buttons, easy to miss a digit when dialing. Porly made ; Also the Windows-program isn't too hot. No (regular) address list to send to the phone, so you have to maintain regualr phone-contacts by phone

"Very Poor insight DECT!"

I am just shocked at the lack of insight that the company is displaying in not making this a mac and Linux friendly device.

Lovely design, great idea and so practical

STUPIDLY, these short-sighted designers have not put in the tiny bit extra work needed to produce Linux and, more importantly, MAC drivers for this product. How cool would it be to be able to use this phone with skype and iChat? Mac users are far more...
