Virtua tennis 2009 is widely considered to be the best tennis game and, in my opinion, is fantastic. In this game you can either play an exhibition match with friends or play against random people online using network play. This, however, is only...

This is the sequel to virtua tennis 2 on the ps2 and the change is instantly noticeable. The play is much more flowing and the world tour mode has even more great mini-games. The players faces and playing styles are so much more accurate aswell, for...

Great realism of players and play styles, just great fun!

Gets slightly repetitive after 2 world tour modes, no online, lack of players.

It's been a long time since home consoles have seen anything new from Sega's classic sports series, but now they are back with an all new update to the Virtua Tennis franchise. In the absence of Virtua Tennis, Top Spin has stepped in and done a more...

Virtua Tennis 3 Review for PS3

By Will Freeman (videogamer.com)

Virtua Tennis 3 for PS3 Review - Virtua Tennis 3 does nothing to revolutionise tennis games, but it is evident that continuing refinement has paid off as the series has developed.

Sega's tennis series has had a multitude of names over the years: Virtua Tennis, Power Smash, and Sega Sports Tennis. While the names may differ depending on location and year, the games have always been easy to pick up and play and hard to put down....

There are some new minigames, and the career mode has been fleshed out, but it's clear that the developers were focused on refining the gameplay rather than reinventing it.

Virtua Tennis 4 Review

By Jack DeVries (gear.ign.com)

Does SEGA's new tennis game score, or fault?

Virtua Tennis 4 is a fun tennis game, after you dig through all the fluff: Mini-games and a needlessly complex career mode. If you already got your fill of Virtua Tennis 3 then there isn't a lot of new stuff in here, which is a shame, but it's still a...

At least PS3 owners now get online play (in theory!), and Trophies this time around.

Virtua Tennis 4 Review

By Robert Workman (planetxbox360.com)

Ever since it made its surprise debut on the Sega Dreamcast years ago, Virtua Tennis has been converting millions of fans worldwide, folks who normally wouldn't play a tennis game to save their lives and addicting them for hours on end with relatively...

Arcade Mode once again returns, so you can get into matches with your friends, either doubles or singles. The game is also very playable online, and we didn’t experience any sort of lag, save for a bad session or two. It’s nowhere near as it could’ve...

That trend continues with Virtua Tennis 4 for the Xbox 360, a game that lives mostly by the credo: “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Granted, there is enough new stuff here to keep the masses happy, so don’t think you’re being cheated. Unlike the more...

Virtua Tennis 4 (Playstation 3) Review

By DowntownJimmy (extremegamer.ca)

Sporting pinpoint 1:1 control, 'Virtua Tennis 4' hits the courts in great shape. Renewed with vigour and a few new tricks, we'll see if #4 is a contender or just a first-round knockout.

Makes good use of the PS Move and 3D tech ; Very accessible for all ages ; Fun mini-games ; A few PS3 exclusives

Misdirected career mode ; Not branded ; A.I. Doesn't always seem natural ; Beyond the gimmicks, not much has changed

PS3 owners who want a fresh PS Move title, 'Virtua Tennis 4' will likely keep you busy for a while, as long as you're not expecting a 'Tiger Woods' simulation of the sport. 'Virtua Tennis 4' is arcade rooted slammer that is pure at heart and an...

Sure, improvements can be made and beyond the gimmicks, not much has changed. But as it stands we are happy that SEGA still supports the series and with the help of some new tech, it seems like the series might be able to finally grow.

Virtua Tennis 3

By CRAIG HUMPHREYS (evergeek.com)

Virtua Tennis 3 makes its debut on the Xbox 360 with an overhand smash -- though you've probably seen it before, just not as pretty nor on the new-generation console.

A good looking, great playing tennis simulation no matter what platform you play it on, the Xbox 360 version of Virtua Tennis 3 includes some exclusive stuff like online content and achievement points (if that's your thing).
