Heroes of Might and Magic V is a massive game which keeps the spirit of earlier games in the series and a virtually identical interface, but it's presented with more style and much more impressive graphics. It stars off with the marriage of Emperor...

Heroes of Might and Magic series had never attracted me to it until I got to play the fifth of the series. Talking about this game, this seems to be caught between different genres, as this is not exactly a Role Playing adventure and it has more...

Wolf shines his armour and finds his old sword as he prepares to battle Ubisoft's Heroes of Might and Magic V.
This game proves that not all turn based strategy games are dull. HoM&M 5 is a solid contender for one of the better turn based strategy games and marks a return for the Heroes' series. With its solid gameplay and good interface it's a fun game.

Never before has magic required so much strategic thinking
Stands up graphically, but sadly it falls down in other vital areas.

Complexity borne from simple concepts ; True to the series ; Looks good
Hackneyed dialogue ; Camp (but in a nice way)

This latest installment captures much of the charm and addictiveness of the other excellent fantasy-themed turn-based strategy games that earned the series its fiercely dedicated fan base.
Stays true to the spirit of a great and creative turn-based strategy series ; Features six lengthy campaigns, offering many dozens of hours of gameplay ; Six playable factions that are satisfyingly different ; Excellent 3d graphics and outstanding...
Some noticeable bugs ; Fairly long loading times and other waiting periods slow down the pace ; Not enough in-game documentation and the manual doesn't help
Diehard Heroes fans will find other things to nitpick about in this latest game in the series, but taken on its own merits, Heroes of Might and Magic V is a big, deep, lavishly produced turn-based strategy game that's got a lot of great qualities. And...
Sceptical Heroes fans, as well as anyone looking for a fun, long-lasting turn-based strategy game, will likely be pleasantly surprised by this one.

Might & Magic Heroes VI is the latest entry in the fabled Heroes of Might and Magic franchise -- just with a new developer, Black Hole Entertainment, and a new, jumbled name. Given the obvious outward changes, I was sort of expecting a "reboot" for the...
Still, I'm a sucker for the Heroes games, and I enjoyed Heroes VI more than I probably should have. The game has a nice look, the campaign is more thoughtful than you might expect (and references Heroes V more than you might remember), and the...
If only developer Black Hole Entertainment had shown a little more restraint in their campaign maps, and a little more competency in their programming, they might have had something really nice here, but as it stands now Heroes VI is a "wait and see"...

If you like building cities, destroying enemy armies, leveling up a hero, or conquering territories then Heroes of Might and Magic V is a must buy. The game is a decent recreation of its predecessors but it is far from what I had hoped it would be.

A new installment in the popular series is finally here and it's looking magical.
