Please realize this is the expansion and requires basic Heroes of Might and Magic V to work!If you like Heroes of Might and Magic V this is worth buying. Adds random map and one town type. Kind of spendy for one new town, but random map is worth having.

After playing Heroes 3 as a kid and loving it I decided to try the rest after seeing this compilation coming out. Played through each a little and like them all (some more than others). Only issue is having to use the CD to play each campaign.

A series of patches helped a lot, though, and the game looked on its way to being one of the best in the history of the franchise. Now, however, the series takes another step sideways with Hammers of Fate. Like the original game on launch day, this...

It's a bit pricey at $30, but Hammers of Fate is a solid, if unspectacular, addition to the HoMM franchise.
Fortress units are cool; a lot more content than the original; random map generator; improved multiplayer
Terribly weak campaign; a bit pricey at $30; a few annoying bugs
