Diablo III review

There's an argument to be made that, 12 years on from Blizzard's previous game in the Diablo action-roleplaying series, Diablo III shouldn't be simply more of the same. It is. It really is, and entirely consciously so. It doesn't expand upon the mouse...

So much of the online functionality/restriction is wrong-headed in the extreme, but if you can stomach its mercenary behaviour there's no denying that Diablo III is very much the fine art of monster-slaying, weapon-hunting and co-op merriment.

Diablo III review

Back in the day, Diablo was the best hack and slash adventure around, but can its back to basics mechanics still appeal?

Diablo III’s old-fashioned ways are proof you don’t need vast maps or complicated controls to be a player in modern gaming circles

Diablo III

Diablo III might not be groundbreaking, but it won't disappoint Diablo fans.

Addictive slay, loot and upgrade gameplay ; High level of polish ; Excellent co-op multiplayer ; Good, well-balanced range of classes

Not a huge advance on previous games ; Connection issues

The Demon Hunter is a ranged weapons specialist, with dual-crossbow capabilities and a selection of vicious traps. Finally, our own current favourite, the Monk, provides a great balance between devastating, high-speed melee attacks and useful defensive...

Diablo III Review

The Lord of Terror returns to consoles after 15 long years, but how does the king of the dungeon fare on a pad?

"Diablo III" was a great game, and for the most part its console version actually surpasses what came before. This is truly rare when it comes to PC ports, and it's heartening to see that this is the case. Blizzard have set a precedent here and made...

Diablo III Xbox 360 Review

Blizzard haven't had a game on consoles for 15 years, and even that last game was an outsourced port, so you could say it's been even longer than that, though the famed developer have made their triumphant return to consoles, with a port of last year's...

Diablo III may not have some of its PC releases more controversial features, but some of its mechanics will still be polarizing amongst console players. It is, however, an immensely enjoyable, compulsive and hugely empowering game, and also one of the...

Diablo III Xbox 360 Review

Diablo 3 was released on the PC back in 2012 and quickly became one of the fastest selling PC games of all time. The title hit 3.5 million sales on day one and surpassed 6 million in its first week. By the end of 2012, Diablo 3 sold over 12 million...

Really easy to control on the pad ; Huge amounts of fun local co-op

Split second freezes ; Occasional audio mishaps

Diablo III Review

Diablo III's captivating cooperative loot-driven gameplay makes the transition to console intact.

Powerful abilities make combat enjoyable ; Flexible, customizable character classes ; Endless, alluring loot ; Varied locations that cry out to be explored ; Harder difficulty levels change up the game significantly

Weapon system flies in the face of traditional RPG logic ; Local cooperative play is disappointing

As diverse as these locations are, they all have one thing in common: they're crawling with monsters. In the early stages of your quest, on normal difficulty, most monsters fall to your attacks without putting up much of a fight, though if you get...

Diablo 3 PC Review

It was during the Blizzcon of 2008 when we first had official word that evil was returning to our PC screens. For some the time has flown by while others have felt that the wait has been too excruciating to bear.

Challenging gameplay ; Very atmospheric ; Great fun with friends

It took 12 years to materialise
