Newbie

Here is a review from a complete coffee. Up until a few months ago I had only bought coffees from Starbucks. It was a lot of fun trying all the other brands of coffee out there. I finally settled on Illy Ground Espresso. Rich, creamy, & lots of...

Easy to use, solid build, big water reservoir

None, no drips runs or errors

Typical beautiful Italian design

I've had 3 previous espresso brewers. My first two were steam-powered (2nd a Krups), and the last one was a Delonghi, pump-style. This Saeco compares in many ways to the Delonghi, except the Saeco cost over 3 times as much. My pros and cons address the...

(see comments below regarding comparison to my previous Delonghi) - I like the cup warmer/storage area on top but you still MUST pre-warm your cup with a stream of hot water if you want satisfactory coffee. I run hot water through the empty filter...

- Instructions don't say to tamp the coffee in the filter. For my first brew, I followed the instructions and it seemed weak. I made a second fresh cup, tamped the grounds using a measuring cup, and it seemed a bit stronger - as I'm used to. My old...

Could use some design tweaking, but great espresso

First - you need to know that this is a compressed portafilter (if you know what this means, skip on ahead) - this means that it doesn't use the same grinding and tamping specs as a "normal" espresso machine. Instead of needing to tune the grind and...

-compressed portafilter (pro or con, depending on what you want) -Relatively easy 'good' espresso shots -Quick to heat and steam -great aesthetic finish

-compressed portafilter (pro or con, depending on what you want) -limited ability to pull 'great' espresso shots -limited steam wand placement -often uneven split between two shot outputs (I handle this by stopping the pull momentarily and swapping the...

Not the sharpest tool in the shed

...but it gets the job done. I'm not going to spend $700+ on an espresso machine.

A little dribbly but I can look past that.

After 40 days steam wand stopped working.

Great value

For the price this is probably one of the best espresso machines out there. It's solidly built from stainless steel and doesn't have a cheap plastic feel to it. My biggest complaint is the pressurized portafilter that comes with the machine. You cannot...

Good build quality, attractive, extremely reliable.

Steam wand is too long which can make frothing difficult. The stock portafilter is garbage and needs to be replaced with a non-pressurized one if you want to really take advantage of this machine.

Best price for Seaco Aroma

For better creama, upgrade the factory portafilter to none-portafilter. But you need to get a proper coffee grinder before u go with this upgrade!

This is the best model in the under US$300 range. Read a lot abt it from many coffee gear venders( WLL, SCG, 1st-Coffee ) Not picking on grind bec pressurized portafilter. Small foot print with stainsteel case. Not a "Made in China" kind espresso machine.

Steam wand use too much air. Better upgrade with steam wand sell by SCG. ( Check their web site under Seaco Aroma accessories/parts for demo video. Vy worth the upgrade!! )

Good Machine

The handle is easy to insert and tighten and its good for mother she no longer has much strength left.

I've bought two of these. One for my mother, one for my brother. Personally I use a Sylvia (Rancilio) but I wanted something cheaper. This machine works very well. It is temperamental. You must grind the coffee fine, and pack it in the coffee basket or...

None worth mentioning. I've used many machines in the past, this is one of the best one's....just be patient with it and you will be rewarded with a very good espresso.

Excellent little machine

Initial marks for appearance were very high! I'm super impressed that the construction is stainless steel throughout. The only plastic part is the panarello and the reservoir. My first panarello was missing a rubber piece that held it in place. I...

-Water heats up fast -Easy to use if you READ THE INSTRUCTIONS -Very large water reservoir -Plenty of crema (Much more than my old Delonghi) -Stainless steel construction throughout.

-Stock panarello could use an upgrade. -Steam has a little water on initial use, easily shot out into water tray. -Replaced their old style buttons with cheap ones -Needs a highly visible power light, roommate keeps forgetting to turn it off.
