Philips Saeco Intelia Focus HD8751

A very good bean-to-cup machine from Philips

Quick and easy to use ; Automatic cleaning and descaling

Large and expensive

The Intelia is a cracking machine that has some of the flair of a professional machine with a bunch of design tweaks that make it dead easy to use and maintain.

Best Reviews – Philips Saeco Syntia Focus Nera

I have said it once and I'll say it again; since Philips took over Saeco and Gaggia in late 2009, they cannot seem to put a food wrong with the management of these brands.

Philips Saeco HD8751/88

You can be drinking a perfect espresso in less than a minute from switching on ; Variable coffee strength is easy ; Super frothy milk for latte or cappuccino

Rather noisy (but not sure any other similar machine would be less so) ; Milk froth verses milk heat is difficult to control. I've actually taken now to pre-heating the milk before frothing it otherwise you need a litre container to allow for the froth...

Philips Saeco HD8751/88

Looks good, makes lovely espresso with lots of crema and has a useful progress bar on its screen to show you how far through each operation it is. It was cheaper to buy than my old bean-to-cup machine was to repair

You'll constantly be reaching for the instructions for the various obscure warning symbols on screen, it advises you to clean it out daily, which for most will prove impractical and the descaling timetable is done on a calendar rather than by cups...

Philips Saeco HD8751/88

Very quick and easy to use, Fabulous Coffee ; Never had a bean to cup machine before, definitely wouldn't go back

Cleaning is a little tedious but I suspect I'm nit picking because everything else about this machine is just sooo good

Great espresso and cappuccino

Overall, I like this machine and I am willing to put up with the extra attention required to keep it running smoothly. It still beats the hassle of a manual machine as I can get a double shot very easily and then do the clean up afterwards. Definitely...

I used to have a manual espresso machine, also a Saeco, I had trouble getting a consistent espresso shot out of it. This machine is perfect everytime, you set up the grind and then the amount for a shot and you're good to go! Now, anytime I feel like...

Cleanup requires a little more attention than a manual machine. If you use the milk frother, the wand needs to be cleaned almost right away, otherwise, milk gets cooked onto it. The removable brew unit needs to be cleaned once a week, which means...
