Cuisinart SS-700 review

With a competitive $199 retail price, the Cuisinart SS-700 is a handsome-looking kitchen appliance with thoughtful design and durable-feeling construction. It is designed to make single servings of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate in less than a minute by...

As K-Cup coffee goes, the sturdy Cuisinart SS-700 makes the best cup we tasted.

You can still make a quick, easy cup of coffee with other brewers in the same price range.

We can’t justify the purchase of this machine when we compare it with the $169 Bunn My Cafe MCU, which can make decent K-Cup coffee and a reliable cup from fresh grounds.

Cuisinart SS-700 Review

Single-cup coffee makers should be easy to use – that's part of their charm – and the Cuisinart SS-700 single-serve brewing system is no different. It uses the K-Cup system to deliver fresh coffee to your cup.

Overall, the Cuisinart SS-700 single-serve brewing system is a mid-range single-serve coffeemaker that is ideal for discerning coffee lovers who want coffee quickly. Its main weakness is that it needs a special accessory to handle ground coffee, but it...

Nice features, great brew, short lived.

I purchased my Cuisinart SS-700 and it stopped functioning after three weeks of light use. It is under warranty, but the shipping would be almost half the cost of purchase. I enjoyed the product for three weeks, but now I am extremely disappointed....

Quiet, fast tasty brew, control options (cup size, timer, brew temp)

Malfunctioned after three weeks

SS-700 not reliable

I bought 2 refurbished units. One quit after 3 months; one after 1 year. Both had electronic controller issues. This is a poor design with limited life expectancy. Stay away.

makes good coffee when it works

doesn't work long

18 Months - Still Works Perfectly

We have a large household of coffee drinkers with different tastes, making this our preferred method of drinking coffee. Be prepared to use good quality bottled water and be sure to follow the maintenance instructions. This does require water filter...

Simple, Convenient way to please the many different coffee drinkers in our household.

K-Cups can get expensive. Does require some routine maintenance.

Very disappointed

good thing there is a 3 year warranty, at this rate it will be replaced annually

large reservoir

unit failed, started pumping back into reservoir instead of brewing, seems to be the common problem. Cuisinart stated that replacement units on backorder & not sure when a replacement will be available.

less than impressed

I bought 2 of these machines, 1 for the office & 1 for home. The one for home which was used on soft water was the one that failed

5 year warranty

having to use the warranty in less than a year with limited use, having to pay shipping to get it to Cuisinart, being told the replacement unit is on "backorder" & they have no idea on when my replacement will arrive

Happy

It came with the coffee filter insert which was really nice. I didn't realize this when I ordered it so that saved me another $10. It has a side compartment in the machine to hold the coffee filter too!

Bought this for the black friday deal and have been very pleased. I purchased this one based on price at the time and the 3 year warranty. I bought my sister a Keurig a few Christmases ago and it died just after a year. So when it came time for me to...

Not all of the finished are metal, some plastic here and there but it still looks nice. Only had it for 3 months so I can't comment on how long it will last.
